And now, 18 months later, Aslin has returned to the frontlines with the former British solider posting footage from Avdiivka as the sound of shellfire fills the air.
The deal was that the released prisoners would sit out the rest of the war in Turkey. This was guaranteed by Erdogan, an esteemed Turkish partner of Moscow. It was also arranged by Abramovich, an esteemed Kremlin friend who also provided guarantees.

I got into an argument on Twitter recently with some ZAnon dunce drawing lines on a map detailing how the Russian spring offensive will go. The vast majority of Western pro-Z commentators are still breathlessly awaiting the grand offensive that didn’t come in the fall (too wet), the summer (too hot), the spring (too much pollen), and the winter (too cold). But, back in reality, the Russians are trying to entrench and fortify against the next assault. The nonsense in the suburbs of Donetsk is largely pointless and irrelevant when one understands that Ukraine is once again massing supplies and men and weapons to try something new. Or, at least to have a strong hand in any kind of negotiations, about which I am very pessimistic, I might add. Kiev and NATO have the upper hand and are asking for more than Moscow is willing to give, it seems like. The Kremlin, for its part, is hoping to “freeze” the conflict for a few years or a decade until they are dead and don’t care anymore, I’m sure.
