I don’t want to bore my readers with getting into the detailed particulars of end times prophecies. Westerners should know enough about them from Sunday school, movies and political speeches by now. If I was writing for Slavlanders though, I’d have to explain Revelation to them because they are all the products of the areligious Soviet and RF education systems.
But, in short: the nations beginning to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel (and then the world) means that the world has taken one step closer to Armageddon and the coming of Antichrist. If you believe in that sort of thing that is.
RT:
The announcement of the new office bolsters Israel’s efforts to legitimize the city internationally as its capital.
Russia plans to establish a branch of its Israeli embassy in Jerusalem, the Foreign Ministry revealed on Friday. The new outpost, which an official statement described as a “branch office of the Consular Section of the Russian Embassy in Israel,” cements Moscow’s claim to the land on which it is situated.
Located on the corner of King George and Ma’alot streets in downtown Jerusalem, the property – currently a parking lot – will feature a residence for Russian diplomats as well as a conference hall, the Foreign Ministry confirmed, describing the agreement it signed with Jerusalem last month as a “diplomatic achievement.”
“We believe that this step fully serves the interests of further strengthening friendly multifaceted relations between Russia and Israel, as well as goes in line with our country’s unchanging course towards a fair Middle East settlement,” the Russian Embassy said in a statement on Friday.
Russia claims ownership of dozens of properties in Jerusalem, some of which are mired in long-running legal disputes. While Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu had promised the best-known of these, the Alexander Courtyard, to Russia, his decision was overruled in court in 2022. The situation remains unresolved despite a personal request by Russian President Vladimir Putin to former PM Naftali Bennett last year.
Since the US moved its Israeli embassy from the internationally-recognized capital Tel Aviv to the disputed city of Jerusalem in 2018, a handful of countries have also transferred their embassies there, including Guatemala and Honduras, with several more promising to follow suit.
Hungary is said to be in the process of expanding its Jerusalem trade office to embassy status, which would make it the first EU country to do so, though the government has neither confirmed nor denied that claim by Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen.
While Israel has gone to great lengths to avoid being seen as choosing sides in the conflict in Ukraine, the country has voted with Kiev on UN resolutions and contributed humanitarian and defensive aid. Thus far, it has stopped short of supplying actual weapons systems to Ukraine, however.
Why do this though?
Putin, I think, is a believer in end times prophecies judging from his comments in the past, his religious convictions and his association with Israel. The best source for trying to glean his views on the topic is his autobiography in which he speaks of his great love of and respect for and fascination with Judaism. There are three personal stories that I remember reading about in his book and in the media. The first is when he explains that he picked up a love and a fascination for Judaism from a very early age from his Torah-studying neighbors, who would have him over and provide religious instruction on occasion. Then, he had a teacher of German who immigrated to Israel who Putin eventually tracked down and loudly gifted an apartment to, so as to demonstrate to the Israelis that he was a very pro-Semitic president. Finally, we know about the very important mentor role that his Jewish judo sensei who pulled him into the world of organized crime played in his youth as well. Putin is said to have wept at his funeral in Israel.
Once he became President, Putin also started taking a more public interest in Orthodoxy.
Right around the same time, the ROC started adopting an increasingly pro-Zionist position, following after the Greeks who led the way in the Orthodox world by selling invaluable church holdings to the Israeli government which was pursuing a total holy land ownership acquisition process in Jerusalem. Also, under Putin, the ultra-Jewish and Zionist Chabad organization began to grow rapidly in wealth and influence within Russia. Just like Rasputin, who was deeply involved in promoting organized Jewish political interests lobbying for power and influence in the Russian Empire, President Putin has done all that he can to cement his alliance with Chabad and help them prosper in Russia.
This should sound very familiar.
All “right-wing” populist leaders nowadays seem to do the same thing. See: Trump, Orban, Bolsanaro, and Putin, just to name the most prominent examples that come to mind. Putin will probably go the way of Bolsonaro and Trump (and Orban too soon) because Chabad doesn’t seem to take very good care of their non-Chosen allies.
Now, I have written about the role of Chabad in Russia before.
First, there was the Security Council member who was fired for criticizing them (the only high-level casualty of the SMO so far) and I also wrote about a pro-USSR movement of irate grannies in Krasnodar who were shut down on terrorism charges for taking issue with Chabad taking over the politics in their region.
As I have also explained before, the RF made a huge pivot towards becoming pro-Israel under Boris Yeltsin, and then this process accelerated under his successor, Vladimir Putin. Before them, the USSR was pro-Arab, a legacy of Stalinism and the Trotskyites fleeing Russia to set up shop as the Neocons in the West.
I’ve also got some more to say, but only behind the paywall.
You can show your commitment to hard truths and your cognitive worthiness by pledging your support. Upon doing so, the gates of hidden knowledge shall swing open.
But I can’t promise that you will like what you find.
