We’re entering into the final rounds of this prize fight.
The crowd is already pretty tired and drunk and gassy, but they’re not quite ready to go home yet. They invested so much time watching multiple rounds of two ex-felons taking turns committing boring and grueling grounding and pounding routines on one another mixed in with some fumbling jiu-jitsu moves that don’t even work on slippery skin … but whatever. Both sides are bleeding at least, and that’s exciting. One guy threw a half-hearted front kick that didn’t land.
Woah!
Nah.
Not even Joe Rogan could get anyone hyped up for this snooze fest to be quite honest. But still, we watch on. Dana White led us to believe that this fight was worth the money. But we were once again duped by that good for nothing pikey and his whole criminal boxing operation.
Jokes aside, Dana White really did ruin MMA for generations by making it easier for Bantus and midgets who like to shove their balls into other men’s noses while rolling around on a soft shag carpet in a bizarre BDSM-style fetish cage to compete and dominate in his UFC. Joe Rogan, one of the aforementioned gay midgets, was one of those who stood the most to gain from Dana’s reforms. In particular, Dana’s bizarre rules and his corrupt match-rigging practices were part of a whole campaign to outlaw tall people with long limbs and all forms of effective strike-fighting in the UFC.
But that is a story for another time.
Point being: there hasn’t been a good UFC fighter arc in at least a decade and MMA was the only sport that I ever took even a passing interest in following, so you know I’m still bitter about how it all went down. All Dana can deliver on is yet another rigged, pointless, and overpriced wrestling match between drugged-up felons with grotesque tattoos.
All we can do is remember the good old days or watch old Pride videos:
This is all actually a metaphor for the Ukraine war, by the way.
We’re going to use the metaphor of an underground boxing ring to make the whole thing clearer today. Copious references to Snatch are headed your way, so keep your hands up and your chin down.
So.
Our first bit of news is that Boris the Blade Johnson of all people is calling for an end to the bare-knuckle gypsy boxing march that is this war in Ukraine now. Yes, that’s right, the man who started the fight in the first place is calling for peace, (for Russian capitulation, actually) ain’t that something?
Here:
Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has presented a peace plan to US presidential candidate Donald Trump for ending Russia’s war in Ukraine. Johnson detailed his proposals in a column for the Daily Mail, offering a structured approach to resolving the war.
“Having talked to Donald Trump this week, I am more convinced than ever that he has the strength and the bravery to fix it, to save Ukraine, to bring peace — and to stop the disastrous contagion of conflict. … I believe that Trump can end it — on the right terms for Ukraine and the West. I stress that I cannot be sure exactly what he would do, if elected. But this is what he could do,” Johnson says.
Johnson suggests that Trump could end the war in two stages – first, by allowing Ukraine to use all necessary weapons, and second, once the Russians are weakened, by proposing a peace agreement.
“Putin would have to pull back at least to the pre-invasion boundaries of 2022, and to avoid future conflict and uncertainty the rest of Ukraine would have to be recognised as a free country, able to choose its destiny within the EU and Nato,” the text states.
Johnson proposes that after the war ends, part of the Ukrainian military could be stationed in European countries, replacing some of the 70,000 US troops currently deployed to deter potential Russian aggression. “That would enable Trump to save money, and to bring U.S. forces home, and get the Europeans to do more in their own defence: one of his key objectives,” writes the British politician.
There is only one way to achieve this outcome – through force, Johnson says. “Washington under Trump will have to show that international borders must be respected, and that the Soviet empire cannot be rebuilt by force. That means backing the Ukrainians to the hilt. If Trump had been in the White House, I don’t think Putin would have been so reckless and criminal as to invade Ukraine,” the former British Prime Minister writes.
A Ukrainian victory could pave the way for new and much better relations with Russia, Johnson concludes. “That would be a big win, for America and for the whole world,” the politician says.
As we should all know by now, Boris Johnson was instrumental in convincing Kiev to fight on and scrap the Istanbul peace deal for even better terms against Moscow.
These terms are much better than what Moscow offered them in April of Year Zero. It is also significant that he’s coming out and saying that the better terms that Kiev was fighting for are now in sight.
Boris is actually Bricktop in this analogy because he set up the fight.
Now, all of the rampant speculation about secret peace deals has the patriotic segment in Telegram panicking.
Here is Katyusha dooming about the prospects:
All weekend long we've been reading new hysteria about the "readiness" of someone to negotiate a freeze on the conflict, which will definitely happen in autumn, and Harris will definitely fall in love with Russia, and if not Harris, then Trump, but maybe Europe. And so on ad infinitum...
No, it's clear that the Moscow elite, or maybe the elite, and the media and TG that serve them, are not just ready for some kind of peace, at least some kind, but have generally begun to return to pre-war times. And the topic of fulfilling the goals of the SMO, like everything else, has already faded into the background.
But when you read something like this from your colleagues, whom you seem to know as people with a conscience, I would like to ask just two questions:
1. Friends, explain to us, on what information or on the basis of what in general are you sure that Russia will be ready for a renewed war?
Seriously, 8 years after the Russian Spring, the time that we were given to prepare, we lost, to say the least, by going out into the open field completely unprepared and failing the first stage of the war.
In two and a half years, the Russian Armed Forces have not solved their three main problems. Two local problems: communications and UAVs with countermeasures to them, and one global one: the entire bureaucracy of the military machine, which is why there are fake assessments, heroes not receiving the status of veterans of military operations, and Ivanov [the corrupt Shoigu deputy (Jewish)] receive more medals than an entire fighting division.
On what basis are you confident that in 5 years, and this is very uncertain, maybe even earlier, having the same government that failed to prepare for the SMO, Russia will be ready for a new war, especially with the entire NATO bloc? Because we want to believe it will be that way?
(…)
Siluanov is already whining that we have too much spending on the army, Nabiullina is already whining that it is difficult to transfer money abroad, as the IMF recommends, the entire elite is already wailing with longing about "pumping up oil, living beautifully and going to Courchevel" and suddenly they will magically change and start preparing for war. Why would this happen?
That is, that they will try to return to their usual way of life and activity before the war - this is guaranteed, but why they should start denying themselves a beautiful life and changing their beliefs for the sake of some future war is absolutely incomprehensible.
Putin will order them to? Well, he has already ordered them to promote the SMO in culture and to take care of the families of veterans of this war. What is the result? Lolita with a song by Pugacheva in Moscow and "your husband committed suicide" for the families whose fathers blew themselves up together with the enemy so as not to surrender.
2. More locally - where are we going to put the half a million residents of the frontline regions, who, after the freeze, will be terrorized and killed according to Ukrainian tradition? Where are we going to put the residents of Gorlovka, Shebekino, Tetkino, Suzemka, Energodar and hundreds of other settlements, who will be beaten and repressed?
Just ignore them and forget about them, pretend that half a million Russians are not a problem, let them survive on their own? Colleagues, are you personally, who are calling for "pacification", ready to take responsibility for the death of these Russian people - these citizens of Russia.
Not to groan and gasp, seeing another bomb on a children's playground, but to admit - yes, I am guilty, because I agreed to them being killed in exchange for the opportunity to live a little longer in comfort myself?
Oh yes, of course, there is a certain hypothetical possibility that the authorities will really be actively preparing for the next war, harshly suppressing corruption, nepotism, as well as false experts and [reforming] the bureaucracy. There is a possibility that NATO will not turn Ukraine into a fully prepared and armed to the teeth battering ram against us. There is a possibility that Ukraine will not shell "Novopetrivka" of all of Rus' and will fulfill all the points of the peace agreement.
There is such an option, as well as the option that aliens will arrive and fix everything, Santa Claus will come and fulfill our wishes, the Golden Fish will be caught and other chances. But, for some reason, after two years of this war, having seen everything as it really is, we no longer believe in them.
If we do not solve this problem now, when we are burning, then later the chances will be much smaller.
So, in other words, they think that the fix is in and that Moscow is jerking the chain on the necks of their loyal propaganda poodles to start yipping about how we need “pacification” and a “cease-fire”. Or their “dags” if you prefer.
Do you like dags? Yeah, dags.
I know I can see the ol’ big fat dag Margarita Simonyan herself a few months from now on Shapiro Live barking about how we need to end the war and turn the guns on the Russian Nationalists at home. All before falling into a coma because of drastically elevated morality levels in the bloodstream or something. Poor old girl.
…
OK, so, anyone else?
How about Zelensky himself.
Here:
MOSCOW, Jul 23 - RIA Novosti. Vladimir Zelensky told Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican, who arrived in Kiev, that he understood that the conflict in Ukraine should be completed as soon as possible. The video of the meeting of politicians is published in the Telegram channel of Zelensky.
"I think we all understand that we must end the war as soon as possible, of course," — he said.
(…)
Earlier, the head of the Kiev regime in an interview with British television allowed the possibility of peace talks with representatives Russia, even if it is the president Vladimir Putin.
And there you have it. The fix is in, as it were.
Zelensky (left) negotiating with Putin (right)
Although, it all still tells us very little.
What does “peace” mean, really? Does it mean Russia withdrawing to 1991 borders? Does it mean ending the conflict along current lines (when pigs fly)? Does it mean ending the conflict now or in half a year at least? Before or after one more push to carve out some more territory?
Also, get this:
Moscow she repeatedly pointed out that she was ready for dialogue, but the Kiev regime at the legislative level imposed a ban on them. In addition, a spokeswoman for the Russian leader Dmitry Peskov noted that now there are no prerequisites for the transition of the situation in Ukraine into a peaceful direction. The achievement of the goals of the special operation remains an absolute priority for Russia, but so far this can only be achieved by military means.
What does that mean?
Moscow is ready for dialogue under any terms … but is still committed to its SMO goals. These are two statements completely at odds with one another, of course. But, well, we should be used to that sort of lying or talking out of two sides of the same mouth from Peskov by now.
Finally, the Chinese have been making some noise too.
Here:
Kuleba has already held talks with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in China, Reuters reports.
The meeting in Guangzhou lasted more than three hours, longer than planned, a source in the Ukrainian delegation told the publication.
"It was a very deep and concrete conversation," he said.
"I am convinced that a fair peace in Ukraine meets China's strategic interests, and China's role as a global force for peace is important," Kuleba said.
The Russian Kommersant newspaper writes that Kuleba announced Kyiv's readiness to negotiate with Moscow.
Wang Yi said that Beijing is in favor of a political solution and a negotiated settlement.
As you may or may not know, China and Ukraine are good friends and strategic partners — in fact, they are far more friendly than Russia and China ever were.
There were no Chinese in the movie, but they appear to be squinting in this picture which should be good enough.
Anyone who tells you that Russia and China are best friends and super-allies is so out of their depth on geopolitics that it is embarrassing. This assumes that they actually believe any of the crap that they promote in the first place that is.
Here is what I mean about China and Russia though.
A follow-up official statement was released about the meeting between the Ukrainian diplomats and their Chinese counter-parts. Here:
"Reuters: Foreign Minister Wang Yi today held talks with his Ukrainian counterpart in Guangzhou, according to sources. Are you able to provide any further information on what was discussed?
Mao Ning: This morning, Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba in Guangzhou.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi noted that China and Ukraine are friends to each other. Everything that stands out in bilateral exchanges is about friendship and cooperation. The two countries established a strategic partnership more than a decade ago, and have respected each other and treated each other as equals. Mutually beneficial cooperation has made steady headway. The presidents of our two countries stressed the importance to view and envision bilateral relations from a long-term perspective, and make sure that bilateral relations and cooperation will keep moving forward. We need to follow this guidance, maintain communication and exchanges, enhance mutual trust, carry forward our traditional friendship, promote the people-to-people bond, and achieve sound and steady growth of China-Ukraine relations.
Foreign Minister Wang Yi said the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China ushered in a new journey of comprehensively deepening reform. China’s all-round modernization endeavor will bring new opportunities to people from all countries. Ukraine is one of the first countries to support and participate in Belt and Road cooperation. In recent years, China has remained Ukraine’s largest trading partner and the largest exporter of agricultural products. In the first half of this year, our bilateral trade has shown a momentum of rapid growth, demonstrating the space and potential of bilateral cooperation. The two sides need to give full play to cooperation mechanisms between the two countries and enhance practical cooperation in various fields. China will continue to increase food imports from Ukraine and work together to keep logistics corridors open and ensure global food security. Foreign Minister Wang thanked the Ukrainian side for the help it provided for the evacuation of Chinese nationals, especially the Chinese students in Ukraine, when the conflict broke out. He also expressed the hope that Ukraine will continue to work effectively to keep Chinese personnel and institutions safe in Ukraine.
The two foreign ministers exchanged views on the Ukraine crisis. Foreign Minister Wang noted that the Ukraine crisis has entered its third year, the conflict continues and there is the risk of escalation and spillover. China remains firmly committed to working for a political settlement of the crisis. President Xi Jinping laid out four principles which provide the fundamental guidance for seeking a political settlement of the Ukraine crisis. On this basis, China and Brazil jointly issued six common understandings that include the three principles for deescalating the conflict, the three elements for peace talks and the three appeals on humanitarian protection. The common understandings also highlight the need to prevent nuclear risks and protect the stability of industrial and supply chains. The common understandings represent the broadest common ground of the international community and have been widely supported and endorsed. China believes that all conflicts ultimately have to be resolved at the negotiating table, and the solutions to any dispute can only be found through political means. Recently, both Ukraine and Russia have expressed to varying degrees the willingness to negotiate. Although the conditions and timing are not yet ripe, we support all efforts conducive to peace and will continue to play a constructive role to enable a ceasefire and resume the peace talks. China cares about the humanitarian situation in Ukraine and will continue to provide humanitarian aid supplies.
Foreign Minister Kuleba said that China is a great country. China and Ukraine are each other’s strategic partners and important economic and trade partners. Ukraine supports China’s position on the Taiwan question and will remain committed to one China. Ukraine hopes to work with China to implement the important common understandings between the two presidents, cement political mutual trust, activate cooperation in such areas as trade and agriculture, and strengthen subnational and sister-cities exchanges. Ukraine highly appreciates China’s active and constructive role to promote peace and uphold the international order. Ukraine attaches importance to China’s views, and has looked closely at the six common understandings issued by China and Brazil on the political settlement of the Ukraine crisis. Ukraine is willing and ready to have dialogue and negotiation with Russia. And of course, negotiations should be rational, substantive and aimed at achieving just and lasting peace.
The two sides also exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual concern. For anything specific, a readout will be released, which you may refer to."
...
What was that about the BRICS super-friendship-alliance to defeat Anal-Ukrainianism?
Yeah, I thought so.
And here is what the Russian samizdat had to say about the China news:
Many accuse China of not helping the Russian Federation in the war to the extent it should. And this is absolutely true. Now let's put ourselves in the shoes of our Chinese comrades, who are closely monitoring what is happening in the Russian Federation.
The Chinese comrades see that almost the entire Russian elite is mentally, in their thoughts, souls and bodies, in the West. The Chinese see that the Russian Federation is fighting in a very strange way, without destroying the Western proxies in Kyiv. The Chinese hear how Putin has been begging for negotiations for 2.5 years instead of winning, etc. What conclusion should they draw from all this?
Most likely, the Chinese comrades are afraid that the Russian Federation is simply using China to get the West to recognize its interests. And if the Russian Federation gets its way, i.e. the Western elite will seat a hypothetical Putin at the same table with themselves, after which the Russian Federation will in the blink of an eye abandon China, Iran and the entire global south and with open arms will rush to their palaces, yachts and assets in the West they love so much. How the Russian elite can betray their own - the Chinese and the whole world were able to see for themselves in 2014. Mozgovoy, Bednov and millions of Russians of Novorossiya will not let you lie.
Therefore, we can assume that comrade Xi does not trust his pro-Western raw materials neighbor. Hence such a policy.
The Mad Colonel is always short and sweet and very non-5D in his analysis, as always. I never thought I’d say this, but the English-language Putinista and Xi-ist? shills could learn something from Russian bloggers about how not to make absolute fools of themselves with their increasingly bizarre and convoluted 5D Celestial Mahjong theorizing.
All of the information I brought to bear today is very readily accessible, by the way.
Shame on the shills for promoting such blatant disinfo for the last three years now.We should duke it out in the ring next. We will see if your Yeshua god helps you dodge my left hook or if you end up earless like yer man Trump.
…
All in all, it feels like the Ukraine fight was scripted the whole while. Sure, it almost went off the rails a few times here and there … but they’re definitely reigning it in now.
To be more accurate, there were always certain rules that were followed during the fight (at least by Moscow), and most importantly, the real action was happening behind the scenes while everyone was focused on the fake fighting in the trenches and arguing over which side had killed more of the other of the other side’s peasants in the name of morality Jesus values or something idk.
STILL.
I didn’t hear no bell …
… but what I did hear recently was the Whitney Webb interview with Jimmy Dore in which she explained that Trump’s new friends and sponsors are heavily invested in the Ukraine war effort by providing drones and other high tech to Kiev.
And do you know who single-handedly intervened to help Mitch McConnell get the most recent Ukraine arms bill passed in the Congress?
Yes, that’s right, our favorite populist freedom-champion who had his ear bitten off recently, Donald Trump!
In conclusion, the fix might be in, but that doesn’t mean that we won’t see a few more rounds of fighting before the bookies start handing out the winnings. Personally, I think that the upcoming fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson will be more interesting to follow and analyze. It will probably be less rigged than the fake assassinations, elections and wars we’ve been subjected to thus far.
Jake has a good chance of losing his ear as well.
Will Republicans start wearing bandages in solidarity with him too?
Me, all I care about at this point really is seeing Dana White deposed and arrested. With the pikey in jail, the world of MMA can finally heal and recover, ushering in a new era of competitive fighting where lanky dudes with long arms and legs and flowing gold hair beat down Dana White’s Guatemalan hob-goblins with ruthless impunity over and over again on state-financed public access televisions that children are forced to watch and write essays about in the public schools as well, hopefully. It will lead to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu becoming a capital offense, and its practitioners dropped into the middle of the ocean. Being short will be criminalized as well.
Now, that is a future worth fighting for.
Superb column, Rurik. Love the "Snatch" references; probably Ritchie's best movie.
The Zanons are falling all over themselves with Russia's "overwhelming manpower and supply advantage." Any day now, the big arrow will come! I'm still trying to figure out how a non-Russian speaker is the "go to" guy for all things pro-Kremlin. Now that's some spooky shit.
Thanks for pointing out how China is really playing both sides. Still awaiting your deep dive China so I can run that in some more Zanon faces. Your "Generation [P]utin" article is still delivering ruined Zanon world views and cognitive dissonance.
This will all be wrapped up by next spring so the pivot to Iran can occur. Greater Israel needs more blood for the Blood god.
