Khodakovsky Finally Admits the Obvious: Russia Can't Win This Not-War
Moscow wants to throw in the towel. Duh.
People who follow this conflict know who Alexander Khodakovsky is and, suffice it to say, he is considered a very polarizing figure among the veteran pro-Donbass and the later (and dumber) pro-Z crowd. To start with a reference point that my readers ought to be familiar with by now, Strelkov often accused him of being corrupt, a sell-out to Moscow and a lot of other bad things. Let me just say right now that I would assume that he was indeed no doubt stealing money and doing what Moscow ordered him to do because there is no way that he would be allowed to keep his position there in Donbass if he wasn’t doing those things.
Like many others, the whole story of this man’s character is written on his facial features.
That being said, I am sure that he is also a brave soldier and has done many things to advance the Novorussian cause. Furthermore, he is still somewhat popular, and I try to avoid attacking popular people regardless of what the truth is as a general rule. The reason why I avoid attacking popular people is because my readers punish me for doing so.
Case in point: I’ve allowed myself to be more openly critical of Putin in the last month in several pieces.
I disavow this picture.
I have been punished for this by my readers (I lost 15 paid subs) and I feel stupid for even bothering. The funny thing is that I’ve consistently been the most pro-Putin voice in the online Russian Right that I am aware of and this brought me nothing but grief from them as well.
Oh well.
Still, being popular is a very distant priority for me. The first priority is checking the Early Life section of Wikipedia, frankly. So, even though I know I shouldn’t “go there” and besmirch a hero of Donbass, I feel compelled to mention why many Russian patriots don’t trust him. In other words, I “discredit” the shit out of all the people involved in the Khodakovsky saga below, behind the paywall, which you should sign up for to replace the people with weak stomachs who jumped ship over the last month. For now though, before we go there, let us just look at what he said recently bearing in mind that him saying it means more because he isn’t associated with the camp of Kremlin-critical people who were sounding the alarm about the war before.
As the headline suggests, Khodakovsky has finally up and admitted that the Not-War is un-winnable. This was glaringly obvious already for a very long time to anyone who wasn’t completely retarded.
The Russian commander of the “Vostok” Battalion fighting in southern Ukraine said on Thursday that Ukraine will not be defeated and suggested that Russia freeze the war along current frontlines.
Alexander Khodakovsky made the candid concession yesterday on his Telegram channel after Russian forces, including his own troops, were devastatingly defeated by Ukrainian marines earlier this week at Urozhaine in the Zaporizhzhia-Donetsk regional border area.
Khodakovsky has a very long track record of losing lots of men and failing to take key objectives.
“Can we bring down Ukraine militarily? Now and in the near future, no,” Khodakovsky, a former official of the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic, said yesterday.
“When I talk to myself about our destiny in this war, I mean that we will not crawl forward, like the [Ukrainians], turning everything into [destroyed] Bakhmuts in our path. And, I do not foresee the easy occupation of cities,” he said.
“We can [though] enter a phase that is most unfavorable for Ukraine in its ‘independent’ state: a phase of neither peace nor war. We could be in this phase if, instead of the special military operation, the [currently occupied] territories were recognized and officially taken under guardianship. But it would require a completely different twist of history,” Khodakovsky said.
Khodakovsky also concluded on Telegram that the likely eventual outcome of the war is some form of “truce.”
So, there’s several points to be made here.
The first: Khodakovsky and others used to attack Strelkov and others in the more critical camp of providing propaganda for the other side to use. And yet, as you can see, I am now quoting the Kyiv Post which used one of Khodakovsky’s posts. Funny how these standards never seem to be applied evenly or equally. Second: Khodakovsky isn’t suggesting anything that the Kremlin doesn’t already want to do. Everyone with half a brain understands that the Kremlin has been trying to freeze this conflict since last summer. If they can’t get a peace, they will settle for a low-intensity conflict. So long as they can continue selling their goods to the West and domestic contractors with the military continue getting orders, the Kremlin believes that they can keep a significant chunk of the oligarchy that rules Russia loyal. Lots of Russian oligarchs are making a killing, literally off this war, just like their counterparts in Ukraine and the West.
Remember: Moscow does not care all that much about the lives of the people of Donbass. To prevent the shelling of civilians like say, in the capital of the DNR, Russia would have to muster a large army to push the UAF away from the city of Donetsk. Seeing as it hasn’t happened in almost two years now, this will never happen and people will continue dying from the shelling unless there is a truce of a kind. Some shelling will continue though, even in a Minsk III scenario, just like it did for 8 years while Moscow ignored it, suppressed it even, until they needed use what happened as propaganda. Me, I think it is clear that we will get a Minsk III if we are lucky. But, I still don’t understand why in the world the West would let up now that they’re killing so many people in the Slavlands and making so much money off the conflict. Western experts assure me that NATO is somehow losing the war, but provide no explanation on why I should believe such bold claims.
Did Jesus tell them this in a dream?
In the real world though, NATO is eager to send F-16s over and keep arming Kiev.
President Volodymyr Zelensky on Sunday hailed on a visit to the Netherlands a "historic" decision to supply F-16 fighter jets to strengthen Ukraine's Soviet-era air force.
It came two days after the United States approved the transfer to Ukraine of Dutch as well as Danish US-made warplanes, a key demand by Kyiv as it seeks greater firepower from allies during a grinding counteroffensive against Russia.
Zelensky landed at a Dutch airforce base in Eindhoven at around midday (1000 GMT), a Dutch government spokesperson told AFP, and inspected the aircraft shortly after.
Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte rubber-stamped the deliveries, saying: "The Netherlands and Denmark commit to transfer F-16s to Ukraine once the conditions for such a transfer have been met."
The decision is "absolutely historic, powerful and inspiring for us," Zelensky said at a press conference with Rutte.
"This is another step towards strengthening Ukraine's air shield."
Details of the aircraft delivery to Ukraine have not been unveiled.
The Dutch and the Danes are leading a plan to train Ukrainian pilots to fly the US-made aircraft as part of an 11-nation coalition, with training potentially complete by early 2024.
Remember when ZAnon claimed that Kiev would never get F-16s? I sure do. These other analysts were literally taking articles from the NYT or WashPo where Biden was vacillating between sending jets or not seriously. What schmuks! How could they honestly misinterpret some last-minute negotiating and kvetching back and forth as proof that the US would give up? Wishful thinking at its best. The next cope, of course, is that these F-16s won’t do anything to prevent total Shoigu victory with a quick march on Kiev by fall, this time for sure.
Look for the new headlines.
Victory for Moscow right around the corner! Wake up, Sleepy Joe! Putin Judo-Flips the West, Again! CheckMATE globalist scum! Jesus spotted in piece of toast, smites NATO! Tick-tock! Op-ed: No, YOU’RE the real Nazi, Nazi!!!
But I digress.
Look: if Khodakovsky is talking about a truce, you know that this is what Moscow wants to hear being said publicly now to prepare the public for what they have planned.
That’s just how these things work.
And even if you want to close your eyes to the truth, other people, smarter people, will not. New Age doesn’t work. You can’t just create your own reality. The Kyiv Post (now properly pronounced Ki-eeeeeeee-yev Po-seh-teh) said as much:
ISW said in its daily campaign assessment that Khodakovsky was “reintroducing a narrative that had been largely dormant since Wagner Group financier Yevgeny Prigozhin’s armed rebellion.”
In April, Prigozhin stated that Russia should freeze the war in Ukraine to set conditions for a future victory without negotiations.
ISW said that “Russian sources have periodically claimed that a Kremlin faction is interested in freezing the war along the current frontlines for similar reasons, as well as over concerns about domestic political stability and the economic fallout from the war.”
Am I this source?
I’m the only one writing this in English to my knowledge who isn’t pro-Keeeev.
I kid!
“Khodakovsky may be reintroducing the narrative into the Russian information space on behalf of the faction allegedly interested in freezing the war, although Khodakovsky likely has limited influence on the Russian leadership itself,” ISW said.
We can now also add Khodakovsky’s statements to the growing list of prominent, influential people who have said that talks are in the works between two implacable enemies: the Anglo-Satanists and the Rashist-Moskals. Backing up my belief that Moscow is going to beg for talks we have Erdogan, Lukashenko, Arestovich, Kissinger, Burns, and a bunch of other big names and on the other side of the debate claiming that Kiev will be taken soon we have *checks notes* some retards on Substack who don’t even speak Russian being paid to tell you bullshit.
Choose who to believe wisely.
Very soon though, ZAnon will be given the order and the narrative will flip. They will start talking about how actually all the goals of the SMO were already accomplished. Even Luka recently said just that (article in the works) in an interview to pave the way for the surrender disguised as a truce. Then they will say that perhaps this conflict wasn’t as existential as it was made out to be now that it is being wrapped up. I dare say we are about to be encouraged by our trusted public officials to let bygones be bygones and to be reasonable and calm about this whole thing.
We will see, I guess. Time will tell. And Rolo will be proven right, again, of course.
And now having covered the news, we are free to commit some extremism (punishable by article 282 of the RF criminal code) by analyzing what Donbass veterans themselves had to say about ol’ Khodo(r) and what team he really plays for back in the day.
