Good morning, patriots.

My name is Commander Rurik and I was at the theater doing my patriotic duty to defeat the globalists by watching Sound of Freedom for the third time this month while getting felt up by Lauren Boebert when I heard General Shoigu’s voice in my head establishing a secure comms channel and telling me that I needed to help him free the children of Chernobyl, who were getting molested by Bill Clinton in the tunnels.

I was a bit shocked at first to hear him, because I usually only speak with Donald Trump or Joe Biden’s identical but good twin (I call him Light Brendan) who is locked up in a secret facility under Alcatraz with an iron mask on his head in my head. But there was no mistaking it — it was indeed Shoigu’s voice ringing out loud and clear above the grinding din and the infernal yelps that I usually hear coming off from the rings of Saturn warning of the cataclysm to come.

“Message received, General Shoigu,” I replied in perfect Mandarin. I knew then and there that the time for chit-chat and half-measures was over. It was time to lock and load and to roll out!

I dropped my popcorn and then dropped the GOP’s greatest hope to secure the coveted MILF demographic as she was clawing with sick sexual desperation at my junk by socking her in the jaw. I then rose from my seat with my freedom hanging out of my fly and let off a few warning shots in the theater to make sure that my gangstalkers knew that I meant business and wasn’t in the mood for their shenanigans today. After I left a tip for Boebert (if you know what I mean) I rushed home to change my pants because Laurent had gotten them dirty (if you know what I mean) and got a plane ticket to Ukraine to help those goddamn kids escape Joe Brandon’s sniffing sessions (you know what I mean).

Now, I don’t owe anyone any explanation, but some of you guys have grown on me, so I’ll give you one just this one time, but you gotta promise not to let any non-patriots in on the secret, OK?

General Shoigu told me that my current mission was terminated, effective immediately and to focus all efforts on the current task at hand. As you guys well know, the secret mission assigned to me by the KGB through gematria applied to gas station receipts was to disinfo the NATO by making the Ministry of Defense appear weaker and more corrupt than it actually was. Needless to say, the operation was a resounding success! Everyone thinks that the Russian MoD is a total shit show and I successfully tricked NATO into sending more weapons to Ukraine and killing more Russian soldiers with them, which was exactly what Shoigu and I had planned for to checkmate the Satanists. See, once those F-16s take off in Ukraine’s skies, Russia’s moral victory over the NAZI NAZI NAZIS will be secure and Yahweh will come down in his UFO to totally OWN the globalists once and for all and circumsize the whole world, as was prophesied, of course.

OK, dark patriot mode deactivated. Stand down and listen up. I’m being serious now.

Yes, I’m going paywall-only with the blog and I’m going to explain why now in very frank terms. Look: I have lost 300 subs over the last month and some. This is almost certainly because I allowed myself to be a little bit harsher than usual in my criticism of the Kremlin and the Worldwide Freedom Spook Coalition. I’ve also lost 20 paid subs in this period, which stings.

In other words, the period of growth for me and this blog has ended, clearly.

I don’t know how else to grow the blog and my just pumping out good content isn’t cutting it. In contrast, Substack is filled with bloggers who post like one essay a month and make as much or more than me with 10% of the effort. These people have messages that resonate emotionally with their audiences and so they get support because the reader essentially is paying to say, “thank you for affirming me and my views, I’m glad I’m not crazy”. There is a huge audience of normal people out there right now who got blindsided by the COVID craziness and the SJW stuff and they really do need an emotional support blogger whispering “you’re not crazy, I see it too” into their ears because everyone else in their lives is participating in a society-wide psy-op with a poker face bolted on.

People are desperate and ZAnon has spun this war as a literal Crusade for vaccine-freedom and to defeat the Transformer menace that is turning the teens gay in the West. NAFO has done an even better job depicting this war as a struggle for Liberalism and Democracy in Ukraine (oligarchy and looting) against the Authoritarian Russian horde.

Both narratives have emotional resonance and memetic appeal.

Westerners are basically ready to tear each other to pieces over these various SJW issues and so they’ve mentally transplanted their internal conflict onto the Slavlands Civil War and fight it out there, by proxy. Now, I do support patriotic, conservative Westerners and consider them to be my people just as much as I do normal Russians and non-Russian hating Ukrainians. But these people should be fighting their war at home (metaphorically, FBI) where it matters, and not hiding behind Putin’s skirt and praying that Shoigu will liberate them because that is both pathetic and also unrealistic.

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to be friends with Russia and wanting Russia to assume a kind of reverse USSR role of helping actual normal people in the West groaning under the yoke of the woke mafia. But why would the Kremlin lift a finger to do anything resembling that when they can do either nothing or the literal opposite and get all the credit and praise anyway? So far, the Kremlin has only promoted bizarre SJW Communists like Hinkle or the freaks who work over at RT and yet you have patriots in the West thinking that Russia has their back anyway. This is very dangerous thinking — trusting a government that doesn’t give a damn about you or worse thinks that you are an Anglo-Satanist who needs to be de-nazified or worse.

All I’m suggesting is that Western patriots ought to Question More (tm) and Demand More (r) or pull on their own bootstraps instead of believing in false political messiahs who will liberate them.

But this splash of cold water doesn’t have emotional and memetic appeal, clearly.

All in all, we got up to 5000+ people who read my very pessimistic, “doomer” analysis on the regular and that ain’t bad, let me tell you. Others have tried to go down this path of red-pilling the masses about the Slavlands and I’ve gotten the furthest out of all of them by far. This really is impressive, if I do say so myself, because of how intensely unpopular the message that I am sharing is. And I think that the message has been sent, and the point has been made at this point. I’ve fulfilled my non-existent obligation to the public and people can either accept it at this point or go on believing whatever it is that helps them through the day if they so choose.

I’m going to keep writing, of course, but I’m also calling in the IOUs while I still can.

Substack isn’t going to allow free speech indefinitely. That just isn’t going to be a thing in this media landscape and political reality. The ADL has already set its sights on Substack and they’re blowing the shofar right now to assemble the learned elders and begin the ritual kvetch to bring down the walls of Jericho Substack. Do you really think that the ethnic censors will allow a large blogging platform that allows free speech to exist outside of their control? I am very certain that Substack is simply trying to get as many writers and people onboard as possible by appealing to free speech before pushing the big red button and re-instituting the same draconian censorship dragnet that we have come to know on all the other platforms.

So, it is in my interest to get while the getting is good because I am almost certainly not going to be allowed to stay and grow my audience here longterm.

Those of you urging me to play the long game need to realize that blogging and alternative media has to rely on hit and run, slash and burn tactics now. In other words, I’m on a clock here and the other bloggers that I compete with aren’t because they don’t point out the actual culprits behind this civil war, which means they won’t get banned any time soon. Nobody in power cares if you advocate for the genocide of Russians (it is encouraged, actually) and nobody cares about the fate of the Ukrainians either, frankly, so keyboard warriors can get their sick kicks from gloating over the peasants getting their limbs blown off and their guts shredded by the good guys and feel a little moral tingle go off in their anus when they do so regardless of whichever side they are cheering for.

It is all kosher so long as they don’t name the nose peeking out from behind the curtains. The peasant masses also recoil in horror at the criticism that I level at their theological, financial, political and moral superiors, so I’m fighting against the current there as well. But that chapter of this blog is closing now.

Long story short: if I’m not growing my casual reader audience anymore, then that means there’s no point in writing for casual readers anymore. It is all risks and no rewards at this point for me. Instead, I’m going to write exclusively for paid subs going forward and I’m going to up the quality of the writing as well. If you want in, I’ll deal you in, no problem, just render unto Rurik what is owed him and become a paying patron going forward. If that’s just not in the cards for you, then I guess this is where we part ways for now. No hard feelings, and all the best. There will be a few big happenings down the line I’m sure and I’ll venture out beyond the paywall on such occasions to share my analysis on them with everyone when they come up. I’ll keep the podcast free to listen to as well.
