The Great Russian Awakening! Dugin Declares That the Day of the Patriot Has Dawned!
Will Dugin be next to be arrested?
I have held off on talking much about Dugin for about a year now. The explanation for why should be obvious: the tragedy that befell his family. I don’t know how to be respectful in that kind of situation, so I sort of just left the topic of Dugin alone. For the most part, he stopped posting his positions on the events of the day and focused on eulogizing his daughter, Daria. Either that or he talked about multipolarity on Telegram.
Since last month however, he has started to come out of his shell and talk about the internal situation in Russia again. Surprise, surprise, it sounds a lot like what I am saying on this blog, so I figured that it was time to put Dugin’s analysis back on the menu offered here at Chronicles. So let’s get caught up to his latest positions.
A day after Strelkov’s arrest, he came out with this analysis:
Patriots are Putin's main support. Not only electorally, but historically, socially, ontologically. Patriots (of all types) in Russia are 85%. Liberals (conscious or unconscious) are 15%. In the elite, the percentage is reversed - 85% liberals and 15% patriots. Therefore, when people say “everyone”, they mean 85% of those who are around (and these are patriots). But the elites, when they say “everyone”, also mean 85% (but in this case embezzlers and residents of Rublyovka).
(…)
For the leader in the most critical of situations, the support of the people, society, the masses is important, and this is 85% who are patriots. The loyalty of the elites is important in a peaceful, calm time. When everything is good in society and in the world. When things get problematic, the proportions shift towards the people.
Many patriots really do not like the ratio of patriots and liberals in the elites. Moreover, all patriots generally do not like this ratio, but patriots express their dislike in different ways.
The leader keeps the patriots on starvation rations, feeding one scoundrel and one traitor at a time for quite a long time. Why so, I find it difficult to answer, but it is so.
OK, so let me jump in here. The language here is extremely conciliatory and polite and diplomatic. Dugin is being very careful here and further down as we will see. If it were me, I’d say something like: the elites are anti-Russian traitors who even in the midst of an SMO refuse to reform their own ranks and snarl with contempt at the patriots that they need now to not lose the war and save their own sorry hides.
The tone is different, but the meaning is the same.
Patriots (that is, 85%) do not cease to be patriots, even if they do not like something.
Real translation: just because we critique the government doesn’t make us traitors, so stop accusing us of being traitors, you lying Kremlin bastards and state media whores.
Fears (from patriots) and hopes (from liberals) that now the Leader, reacting to a number of demarches of disgruntled patriots [Strelkov], will begin to bring liberals back from the dead and flirt with traitors - in the midst of the SMO! - are completely unfounded. A tilt towards liberalism is possible only after the restoration of normality, and for this it is necessary to win the war. Liberals, on the other hand, naively believe that normalization is possible through the conclusion of a “shameful peace” (which no one offers and will not offer). The Patriots fear - just as short-sightedly - the same thing.
Real translation: Strelkov’s arrest doesn’t mean that Chubais is now back in good graces with the Kremlin. That will come after the surrender. Lucky for us though, the West doesn’t want to accept Moscow’s surrender. So the war will continue, reluctantly.
Summary: patriotism will not go anywhere and its degree will gradually but steadily increase. The main thing is to remain loyal to the Leader (and this is the duty of a patriot, especially during the war) and choose the correct expressions for - sometimes quite justified - criticism of his entourage. But some kind of allowance for such criticism is simply necessary so that mistakes and their consequences are not directly blamed on the Leader, and his authority is a matter of the sovereignty of the country. The higher-ups must understand that the price for their high position is the need to take a blow at a difficult moment. The ban on criticism of the Leader is necessary, the ban on criticism of his inner circle will create huge risks for the entire system as a whole and can lead - if something goes wrong, and from time to time something goes wrong with us (let's face it) - to overheating, which will affect the Leader. Therefore, from time to time the boyars must be executed. This is the prerogative of the Prince.
So patriots in general have nothing to fear, and liberals have nothing to hope for. The Special Military Operation in Russia is more than just a special military operation.
Real translation: the Tsar is good, it is his advisers who mislead him. If he only knew how he was being fooled, he would fix the situation!
I know this political formula quite well and I follow it (loosely) here on this blog as well. Take note, FSB: I whole-heartedly and unreservedly support President Putin on this blog and ban anyone who dares criticize him. I am also a fervent believer in Russian Orthodoxy. I also support Communism with Capitalist characteristics i.e., the “mixed” system that Russia has now. I also think you boys are doing a fine job of keeping people like me out of the country, by the way.
Now, with all that groveling out of the way, I want to point out that while I don’t personally, necessarily believe in the political formula above, I do understand why I need to act like I do and why Dugin and others do as well. Dugin and Strelkov and Tsiganov and just about anyone else in the patriot analyst scene understand that Putin is just the average of the five closest people around him, same as any one of us peasants are. So, the odds of him being a secret patriot (the only one up there) surrounding by rats for the last 2+ decades, is, well, it simply strains credulity. However, there is a hope in patriot circles that the West is actually serious about toppling Putin and parading him around in chains in the Hague. If this is indeed the case, and Putin recognizes it as so, there is a chance that he will actually take the necessary measures to win the war or at least not lose it so badly, and purge the pro-Western elite.
But it has been too many short two-week SMO periods to count since that fateful day in February of last year. Even faced with a faction of the elite mutinying and the vote of no confidence from the military which stood aside and let it happen, President Putin did not punish a single person in his entourage for letting the situation spiral out of control like that. He didn’t even punish Prigozhin either, but that is a separate story.
So, I’m sorry, but we’re just going to have to let that pipe dream fade out and die.
Maybe the West doesn’t really hate Putin all that much and is still talking to him through backroom channels. We know that CIA officers are flying in to Moscow regularly, after all, so Putin has a lot of opportunities to reassure his handlers esteemed Langley partners. Maybe he thinks they will let him off the hook.
It is just as hard for me as it is for you to let the dream of a better tomorrow go, because I literally started my blog based on the thesis that reforms were coming and that the expected Russian Summer was upon us. After I ended up looking like a fool, I had to embrace the twilight gloom of the eternal Russian Winter and become a doom-blogger instead.
I didn’t have to though. I could have kept lying to you like Simpletonius and Big Serge and Scott Ritter and the others do and make the big bucks doing so because the masses love to be lied to. Look at how eagerly they gobbled Christianity, Communism, Climate Change, COVID and so on down. Sadly, I never got offered an FSB contract and I refuse to shill for free — it violates my code. They should have offered me money like they did the others, frankly, instead of being so greedy and embezzling so much that there wasn’t any left for me. Who is to blame for this situation, really? Me, or the people tasked with making sure writers like me are brought into the fold? Here we are, enemies, glaring at each other across our screens, when we could have been business partners happily fleecing the peasants together by selling them religious narratives and fake prophecies. It is just sad that it came to this. Feel free to deal me in ahead of the next hoax so that we don’t have this problem going forward.
By the by, I wonder what deal was offered to Dugin … He used to be a huge critic of the Kremlin, but he took a long break from that. Did they offer him the carrot or the stick?
…
Near the end of that above post, you can hear Dugin basically petitioning Putin to not arrest him and other patriots for critiquing Putin’s Kremlin entourage.
“Let’s make a deal, big guy,” Dugin says. “Let’s play by the old Tsarist rules going forward. Criticism of policy and advisors is fine, but no criticism of your person allowed. Win-win for you and us, right?”
Right?
Wrong.
The above formula is all well and good in a traditional Autocracy, but Russia is not an authoritarian state (sadly), and I am starting to have serious doubts about how much power Putin even has, really. If the threats against his person from the West are real, any person in his position would probably be a little bit more energetic about saving his own hide. Instead, Putin almost got toppled a couple of months ago and just kind of shrugged and then went on a tour promoting tourism in Dagestan literally a day after the dust settled (or his clone did, who knows). During the last presser that we had with him, he told the war-correspondents that there was no need for mobilization and that everything was developing in a positive way.
But just today, Shoigu announced that an almost 400k strong NATO army had materialized on Belarus’ borders. They’re saying that Poland is about to annex Western Ukraine again:
So, frankly, what is the point of petitioning President Putin for protection from the FSB if Putin doesn’t have the power to grant such an exemption? Furthermore, as Dugin well knows, Russia is an ideological state even if there is no real ideology to speak of. See, Monarchies are anti-ideological. You show loyalty to the Autocrat and that is the same as believing in the Constitution in America or the Revolution in France and that is enough to be left alone, which is the best we peasants can hope for, really. But Russia isn’t an Autocracy, and while there is no stated ideology, the unstated one is that one is not allowed to critique the reigning oligarchy or the reigning spook state, which is the equivalent of a kind of Church inquisition, and which believes in a kind of idiosyncratic synthesis of Communism, Orthodoxy and Laissez-Faire.
Yes, really.
Dugin knows this, which is why he is more measured in his criticism now after his daughter (it was meant to be him) was made an example out of. What do I mean by that? Well, let me take a leaf out of Dugin’s book and be extremely vague. Let me ask you this: do you know who took credit for the murder of his daughter? The partisan Russians operating out of Ukraine.
Ponomarev, who now lives in Ukraine, said that Dugina (aka Platonova) had called for the destruction of Ukrainians, and was a voice calling for violence and murder in the occupied territory. In particular, she gave justifications for the murder of Ukrainian prisoners of war in the occupied Olenivka prison camp.
“This action (the assassination of Dugina), like many other direct partisan actions carried out on the territory of Russia in recent months, was carried out by the National Republican Army (NRA),” said Ponomarev.
“We have established contact with its fighters with the help of our Rospartizan Telegram channel, which covers the growing wave of resistance in Russia.”
And what do we know about who started and funded and utilized these partisans while they were still just political provocateurs operating in Russia? Perhaps you don’t know this story, but I sure do. I even wrote it up for my Stalkers, selflessly, out of a desire to share arcane Slavlands lore. Pomarev, the man who claimed credit for organizing the killing of Darya Dugina was a member of the Russian Duma until 2015.
Do you know the story behind this group of terrorists and how they got their start in Russia and not in Ukraine? You would have if you signed up to read my expose:
The point I am making here and the point that Dugin ends on is that being allowed to criticize, within reason, ought to be allowed in Russia, but yet it isn’t, clearly, otherwise we wouldn’t be talking about it now, now would we? Dugin thinks that agreeing to not critique Putin personally should be a good enough compromise, but well, who is he to make that call? Like all patriots, Dugin wants reassures from the government that he won’t be arrested next, or just guidelines, but these are simply not forthcoming.
It is just like the SMO, where the Kremlin refused to state their goals clearly.
Not having stated goals made it easier for the Kremlin to abandon them. And the same principle applies to discourse within Russia. If there were rules to this, the government would feel itself to be limited, and why would they limit themselves artificially? Out of a sense of social obligation? Don’t make me laugh. Better to keep the peasants on their toes, in a state of terror, wondering if they will be next. That is how all ideological governments operate and, in fact, it is even better if they don’t have a stated ideology because then again, no peasant can accuse them of not following it just the same as no peasant knows when they will be punished for violating it.
Speaking of which, Dugin continued to tip-toe up to the invisible and unclear line of no-return in the days following Strelkov’s arrest:
How naive are those forces in Russia who hope for a speedy (and shameful) peace, and in the current conditions any peace for Russia would be a disgrace and capitulation. The enemy is ardently attacking the Crimea, as promised. Trying to reach out to Moscow. Today's night attack by drones of the capital is a little more serious than the previous one. And then it is completely pointless to exclaim - How so? Why was it allowed? It's just a life-and-death war.
And the attacks of Crimea and Moscow, and the use of cluster shells, and the preparation of terrorist attacks by the enemy at nuclear stations, and the transfer of F-16s to Kyiv - all these are inexorable signs of a war that is coming to its climax. Only patriots can win a war. Russian patriots. Even the internationalist Stalin understood this. Any tilt towards liberalism under such conditions would be suicidal for the authorities. We are at war with Russophobia, and yet purely Russophobic lists and threats of reprisals against patriots begin to circulate.
Allegedly out of fear after the mutiny.
Irony of ironies, it was the patriots that ended up getting purged. Some say that the mutiny was planned to achieve this end, but I think they just saw an opportunity and made lemons out of lemonade, as they always do.
(…)
It is clear that there is a significant layer of hidden enemies in the elites - last week they came out of their silent mode. But on the clock of history, now is the hour of the patriot. It cannot be otherwise. And Putin's election - as a symbol of his nationwide support (although it already exists without any elections) - can only take place on the wave of high, resolute and clearly defined patriotism, the Russian Idea. Technology does not work when history itself makes itself felt. And today it is exactly so. Russia is awakening. And no one can stop it. It remains only to lead the process of Awakening.
And who will lead this awakening when a chilling effect has been put out by the Kremlin? Will it be you, Mr. Dugin? How can you do so if you are back to accusing the Russian government of being filled with traitors and collaborators after taking a year from doing so? What happened to the last guy who spoke like this? One thing is for sure, Strelkov’s arrest has brought Dugin out of his reverie. He has been posting up a storm since and he has also started hinting that he is next on the list:
I am a supporter of repression. At the same time, I understand that they can affect not only the guilty, but also those who are right. I am for repression not only against enemies, and even more so my personal enemies, but I am for repression in general. Repression is a call to responsibility for deeds, words, gestures. This will not break earnest people, but it will force everyone else to choose expressions. Repression can touch me too. But who said that I'm right about everything? Maybe I'm wrong, but if these mistakes are painful for society and the state, then, probably, they should be punished. At the same time, it is quite obvious that even without me there are many figures - liberals, traitors, oligarchs, corrupt officials, Russophobes - who should be punished. Cruelly. Therefore, repression is necessary and inevitable. You cannot call for repressions and assume that you will personally avoid them, turn away. Don't turn away. That way they won’t turn away. Nobody will turn away from it at all. Repression is serious, repression is total. Therefore, repression must be decided on. The main thing is to start the repression. Everything else will follow.
Very Duginesque. He is saying that I’m willing to be repressed so long as the traitors are repressed as well.
“If we are to be repressed equally, I will gladly be repressed so that Russia may survive!”
Sadly, I don’t think it works that way.
Now, I know what you are thinking, casual reader. You know better than to fall for Rolo’s lies. ZAnon told you that Dugin is a traitor and so he’s gotta go!
“Dugin is a well-known Ukrainian agent and a pro-Westerner and a traitor to Putin and the Russian people! Also, he’s a NAZI NAZI NAZI DIE DIE DIE REEEEE!!!!!!”
Oh wait, sorry, you probably don’t think that yet because you haven’t been told to think that yet by the other ZAnon blogs that you read. But they were all gloating when Strelkov was put away, so I am pretty damn sure that they will do the same if Dugin is put away as well. Until then, you don’t know what to believe, I’m sure.
Another Dugin post:
If we believe in the idea of the Russian Spring, and someone else believes in the Minsk agreements, then if the Russian Spring wins, the supporters of the Minsk agreements should be repressed. For betrayal and sabotage. If the supporters of the Minsk agreements win, they do the same with the supporters of the Russian Spring. This was done already.
Ideas matter the most. And you have to pay for words, thoughts and actions.
Are you a liberal? If the Patriots win, you will go through this stage. And don't ask why? Because you are a liberal.
Are you a patriot? If (God forbid!) the liberals win (and this has happened in our recent history), do not be surprised or indignant if they come for you. On business.
Let's realize that we have to pay for our beliefs. Any price - up to freedom and life. Only then are these beliefs worth something. If you are not ready to die for your ideas, then you simply do not have any ideas.
Very optimistic tone. Sides that talk about being ready to die for their ideas are usually about to die of be arrested for their ideas, I’ve found.
He had this to say about the arrest of Boris the Marxist:
In this case (possibly, but not yet verified) a foreign agent was repressed (this is a legal fact, not a curse), a member of the world Trotskyist international. A person convinced of his left-globalist ideas. He's definitely not a random victim. But again, this is a marginal figure. And the main candidates for repression have not even been touched so far. Maybe the authorities are simply aiming at the flanks in order to find the center of the enemy. Make no mistake here: the most toxic, dangerous and pernicious enemy is the liberals. We are waiting for them [the government] to shoot and hit the target.
Any day now, I’m sure …
Dugin also wrote an action plan of the most pressing problems facing Russia at this critical moment. I appreciated him highlighting the city blight, the demographic chasm and the Slavic genocide being perpetrated by the Kremlin on the Russian people:
Stop the extinction of the Russian people
We are dying out. Russian every year becomes less and less. If we do not immediately reverse this catastrophic trend, we as a people will disappear from the face of the earth already in this century, or become a tiny minority. How to save the people?
Immediately return as obligatory traditional values - spirit, morality, a strong family. Only traditional societies can boast of population growth. The more extensive modernization and deeper liberalism, the fewer people. Therefore, all those tendencies that go against Tradition, the spiritual Russian religious culture, must be legally prohibited.
The practice of replacing disappearing Russians with imported migrants - with an alien identity and no intention of becoming part of our people - is criminal and must be stopped immediately.
An irrefutable sociological and statistical veil is that in the conditions of modern cities, there is always a demographic decline and degeneration in all countries and civilizations. Big cities are the killers of a strong large family, a source of moral uncleanliness, debauchery and perversions.
It is urgent to begin the downsizing of megacities, provide all Russians with land and the opportunity to live on it, take care of loved ones and have an inalienable inheritance - a family nest.
We must finally give the Russian people land. At different stages of our history, this or that force put forward this just slogan, but every time the Russians were deceived again - both by the landlords, and by the Bolsheviks, and by the liberals of the 1990s. Only the land that gives birth to bread, the breadwinner, is able to give impetus to a surge in the birth rate.
Either we immediately reverse the demographic situation, or we are in for a catastrophe even worse than the one we recently faced.
Prohibit usury
The high lending rate and the complete dependence of the Russian economy on being integrated into the system of world financial capitalism lead to the super-enrichment of the financial elite and the inability to get out of poverty for the general population. The financial oligarchy is profiting from the collection of high bank interest and mortgages, having enslaved almost the entire Russian society with loans.
This system needs to be radically overhauled. Instead of a commercial loan, it is necessary to switch to a social loan - with a zero or even a negative rate, which will allow a sharp increase in the total wealth of the people, expressed in houses built, goods created, established industries, and not in abstract macroeconomic indicators.
The state must fairly distribute financial opportunities among the entire population, putting an end to the omnipotence of the oligarchy and corrupt officials.
Such an economic, in fact, colonial model developed in Russia in the 90s of the last century, and today it is precisely this model that hinders the harmonious and progressive development of the country's creative potential. And it is huge and only artificially restrained by the monetary policy of the authorities.
Either we will immediately change the economic vector from a liberal-oligarchic and monetarist one to a socially oriented one, or a catastrophe awaits us, even more terrible than the one we recently encountered.
Dugin wants National-Socialist Social-Nationalist economics and so do all Russian patriots, even the Communists. We’ve seen the results of a peacetime Social-Nationalist economy …
… and we’ve seen the results of the equivalent war economy too. When the government, as opposed to a conglomeration of international banks controls the money, miracles can happen.
Dugin also believes that cultural overhauls are long-needed:
Winning the war with the West
In Ukraine, we are waging a bitter war not so much with the Kiev regime, neo-Nazi and Russophobic, as with the collective West. This is not just a regional conflict or the solution of contentious issues in geopolitics, economics and military strategy. This is a war of civilizations. The modern West has thrown off its masks and openly appears in its true form - it has long declared war on God, the Church, as well as the political and cultural foundations of traditional society, and today it directly challenges man himself. Modern Western civilization destroys families, legalizes and even aggressively imposes perversions, gender reassignment, transgender operations, the victims of which are even children.
Ecological extremists demand to save the planet from people. Pioneers of genetic engineering are already conducting experiments on crossing people with machines, with other animal species, experimenting with the genome, promising to give human organisms eternity or its appearance (in the form of memories and feelings stored on servers). Intrusion into the sacrament of bearing a fetus threatens with new segregation, because a project has already been launched to breed a superior race, whose genotype will be artificially corrected and improved as much as possible.
The war with the West in Ukraine is a battle of human civilization, which is Russia, which, in fact, is leading today the confrontation of the world majority against the hegemony of the West, with a civilization that has embarked on the path of destruction or irreversible mutation of man. Such a civilization is satanic.
In order to win this war of civilizations, it is necessary to awaken our entire society, to bring to each of its members - up to children - the meaning, goals and objectives of this great and sacred people's war. This is not just the defense of the Motherland, this is the war for justice, which we are waging not for life, but for death. And since we stand on the side of the Light, then society must be cleansed, ennobled, exalted. Victory in such a decisive battle for the entire human history is the key to the preservation of man as a species. Once again the Russians have taken on the mission of saving the world. And today everything depends on us.
In such a situation, we are obliged to convey the piercing truth about the meaning of this war to everyone and everyone.
It was criminal to leave unchanged the culture of entertainment that has developed over the past 30 years, based on vulgarity, cynicism, ridicule of everything high and pure, imitation of all the most repulsive aspects of the West. Moreover, many cultural figures showed their traitorous insides in the conditions of the SMO, directly going over to the side of Russia's enemies.
The antics of demon-possessed jesters, blasphemers and perverts undermine faith in our Victory, arouse the indignation of the heroes of the front and those who have already deeply realized how high the stakes are in the conflict of civilizations.
We need a completely different culture, corresponding to the challenges of wartime. The existing culture is not culture at all. Not only should we not let the traitors who have come to their senses back, but also remove those who have remained out of sight, while retaining our style, our snobbery, our almost undisguised contempt for the Russian people and their ideals, their guidelines, their moral nature.
Either we immediately rebuild our entire society on a military footing, or we are in for a catastrophe even worse than the one we recently encountered.
Yes, well, we can dream at least, I guess.
Dugin declared victory in Niger.
Niger is ours! The last puppet of France-Afrique is overthrown directly to the Russia-Africa forum. Niger to the Nigers.
I’m skipping all the Third Worldist crap that he spent the next week promoting though.
On Turkey:
Exactly the same situation occurred after Türkiye shot down our plane. The phone in the Kremlin is silent. Ordinary lobbyists and negotiators also found themselves under the block. Then, in order to prevent a war with Turkey, the last channel turned on. And then it worked. Erdogan apologized (explaining that the plane was shot down by the Gülenists on the orders of the CIA), Putin accepted the apology, the United States tried to overthrow Erdogan (the special channel worked for the second time, Moscow supported Erdogan), the relationship was saved. Since Erdogan drew all the conclusions, especially after the clash with the Gülenist sect, even the assassination of Russian Ambassador Karlov did not lead to a similar crisis. The phone in the Kremlin worked. He worked even after Ankara delivered Bayraktars to the neo-Nazis in Kyiv. And now it doesn't work again. After the release of the Azovites. I assumed that would be the case. And so it happened. It took an extraordinary effort to turn it on last time. I do not know whether they will now be undertaken and by whom.
By the way, it turns out that Dugin is now under Konstantin Malofeev’s krisha. I’m happy for him, honestly. My Russian podcast was in communication with Malofeev many years ago, but we got turned down for being “political hooligans”.
And some concluding posts to get us up to speed.
On Kanye:
Modern liberal ideology considers any belonging to a collective identity, including race, gender, and even belonging to the human species (transhumanism), the consequence of the free choice of the individual. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a criminal. Hence the persecution of supporters of the classical family, patriots, bearers of any collectivist teachings. Anyone who is suspected of a lack of liberalism is denied access to major channels, mass media and even social networks. At the same time, if anyone, even from among the elite, stumbles, deviates from the liberal (completely totalitarian) agenda, then ostracism, censorship and repression follow immediately. Only the famous African-American rapper Kanye West put on a T-shirt with the innocent inscription White lives matter (too) (“White lives also mean something”), as overnight in the eyes of the public he turned into a marginal, extremist and socially dangerous element. Anything that goes against the ruling ideology is immediately suppressed.
Dugin wants to arrest Liberals on sight and make owning a copy of “The Open Society and Its Enemies” the equivalent of owning Mein Kampf:
(…)
And vice versa: when criticism of the president, the leadership of the army or the SMO as a whole and the corresponding actions in this direction come from liberals - that is, those who obviously share the ideology of our civilizational enemy - then in this case this is precisely an aggravating circumstance. And the presence of the liberal ideology itself (which is easily recognizable as bestial hatred for right and left patriots, that is, for the same "red-browns") is obviously an alarming signal "Treason is possible! Beware, liberal extremism!".
The case of the liberal terrorist Daria Trepova, who brutally murdered the military commander Vladlen Tatarsky and maimed other peaceful and innocent people, is quite indicative. Of course, not all liberals are convinced terrorists, but their ideology is directed precisely in this direction. After all, not all Muslims who read Wahhabi and Salafi literature banned in Russia dare to kill or blow themselves up with shahid belts. But as soon as law enforcement agencies find such books or receive information that fundamentalism is being preached in such and such an Islamic center, tough preventive measures follow. It would make sense to do the same with liberals. They recorded the fact of reading or transmitting Popper's book "The Open Society and Its Enemies", this black bible of George Soros, or an unhealthy interest in the liberal Satanist Ayn Rand - and immediately took note. And banning the liberal media and giving the most innocent the status of a foreign agent is already a step in the right direction. Before you become a liberal, you must first think carefully about what you will have to pay for it.
Amusing and correct.
And there you have it, folks. Dugin is back and continues to demand total war against the West, accusing Moscow’s elites of refusing to commit to this confrontation because of ideological favoritism to their esteemed Western partners.
Does this mean that he will get arrested?
My gut says no, on account of the fact that his daughter was killed, so it would look particularily egregious and grotesque, but at this point who knows. Punishing both Liberals like Navalny, Communists like Kagarlitsky and Nationalists like Strelkov seems to be a surefire way to alienate literally everyone in Russian society that isn’t on the Kremlin’s payroll. So, why do this? Why make enemies of everyone? Seems dumb, and yet, they seem very confident about their prospects of maintaining such an unnatural government going.
Perhaps there is more to this unnatural government than meets the eye?
Hopefully Dugin doesn’t get in trouble going forward.
But hey, you gotta admit, arresting him would really send a message out to Russian society: absolutely no dissent tolerated. It would be impossible to interpret it any other way if the living icon of Russianness (at least in the West) was arrested by the Kremlin government.
Granted you have a much better insight and understanding than I do, but I think there's no way in hell they'd arrest Dugin, that would be about the equivalent of arresting Tucker Carlson over here, shit would come apart at the seams. This was a good piece young man.
Dugin of course is on the right side in the scheme of things but I feel like the line from people like Murz and Artëm that the current power arrangement in Russia has no mechanism for saving itself is correct. The problems are simply too systemic. The mass importation of central Asians and covid hoaxary are the most blatant symptom but stuff like this is also very telling:

Supporters of Ukraine have more rights in Russia than Patriots.
Some pop artist from Lvov displaying the flag of the Russian volunteer corps on the big screen at a concert in the middle of Moscow:

The same people that took credit for killing Daria. It's literally more risky to get indignant about this stuff than openly support it.
Of course Dugin should post more stuff like the above in the article but asking the members of a traitorous sold out elite to please save themselves for the sake of the country indicates that someone is still on the denial phase of the grief chart. Also lol@dugin rightfully getting mad about the Kremlin policy of replacement migration targeted at Russians while still promoting 3rd worldism.
He is correct of course that repression is the only thing that can save the current order in Russia, but it's so, so obvious now that no repression of the correct people will be allowed. Furthermore for every person that should be repressed and is something like 2-3 patriots will be repressed in turn. That kind of dynamic will only create more human material for Zog to work with inside Russia. Patriots will be teaming up with the liberals again etc. That is if you wanted to make an army of foot soldiers for Zog West in Russia you would do what the Kremlin is doing now, make absolutely everyone in Russia hate you.
Rolo doesn't this seem like a re-run of when the Kremlin created an army of Patriots that teamed up with the liberals and than moved to Ukraine to fight against Russia? Dugin saying "repress me if you need to but at least repress the liberals too" is in theory alright but in practice how is this going to be any different than last time the Kremlin went after the Patriots? Also everyone knows that the Patriots dont have the funding and support networks that the liberals have. That means repression is generally going to hit them way harder. That's not even factoring in that the judicial system is already generally more hostile to Patriots than open pro Ukrainians.
To avoid serious troubles like after Ivan Grozny died Russia needs Patriots but being the poorest, most under resourced and feared people in Russia they are accordingly the only people that the authorities are comfortable abusing. The authorities are very wary of cracking down too hard on the liberals because the liberals have tons of friends in the media, judiciary, and Kremlin itself. The Patriots have nothing like this. And what are the liberals really arguing with the Kremlin about? Well the liberals are basically saying "we agree with you on everything, but you aren't doing it fast and hard enough".
That is the Kremlin isn't surrendering in Ukraine fast and hard enough, they aren't replacing the Slavs in Russia fast and hard enough, they aren't asset stripping Russia fast and hard enough. They aren't repressing Patriots fast and hard enough. If we play the "repress those guys at least and I'll go to jail" strategy than the liberals are in a much stronger position.
This isn't too say Patriots should do nothing, just don't ever expect anything good from the current authorities, expect massive instability and troubles, and just try and get your message and plans out. This made me smile a little:

The другая Россия guys doing a banner drop in Peter saying "fight the hohols not Patriots". Not that I would ever expect the Kremlin to do that and neither should anyone else, but starting a conversation about why is useful.
