For pretty much all of human history, the elites and specialized classes of warriors have made war on one another for one reason or another while the peasants simply stuck together and did their best to make it through the war in one way or another.
With the advent of mass propaganda and democratic societies, the peasants have been roped into the elite’s schemes. This you already know, menkhu-in-training. Just so, you also know that the peasants have no say in how their country is run or who their country goes to war with. The trick is that that the peasants nowadays think that they do, that their voices matter in some way. But it is clear that their voices and opinions actually have a negative effect on elite policies - that the elite actually do take the time to hear the peasants out… and then literally do the complete opposite to spite them. I even have proof:
No, I didn’t actually take the time to find these studies myself, someone far smarter (and far more autistic) than me did and prepared a presentation of the relevant points, which I filched from him:
And, what’s even worse, it turns out that autocratic forms of government are far more responsive to the voice of the peasants. Some more proof for you to peruse.
Bad news for the pro-Liberal Democracy folks. Cicero weeps. Strongman enthusiasts score another W.
It might be surprising then, to learn that the vast majority of Russians support the military operation in Ukraine. There have been dozens of articles written by the Oligarchic media outlets lamenting the popularity of Putin and Russia’s actions in Ukraine among the Russian peasantry. I Yandex’d it and saw at least a dozen from Western outlets, NOT outlets like RT who would have a vested interest in promoting a pro-solidarity narrative. Try for yourself:
None of this comes as a surprise to me.
This is because I know the lines. I am a political Haruspex. “Healing requires an open wound.” Only, I administer medicine with every stab of my pen, not the cut of my knife. My connection to the kin is stretched, faint even, but not yet totally lost.
Also, apart from being a cyber-shaman, I am just lucky enough to have a basic understanding of the ur-structure of politics. My simple model of Oligarchy v Authoritarianism allows me to accurately predict many thing without diving into the statistics and polling numbers. I get the mentality of the peasant-kin and I get the mentality of the town-elites without indicting either for failing to adhere to my Utopian vision of how things be. In this way, I have an easier time seeing things for what they are and what will unravel in the coming days.
See, I wrote this article, and made the claim about Russians supporting the war before even checking in to see that this claim was backed up by any polling data (which it is). My diagnostic method was simple: I spent some time with the mazhor brats of the second-rate St. Petersburg nomenklatura and self-styled intelligentsia over the last couple of days. These people spend their lives supporting things that the peasants despise to differentiate themselves from them. To find out what the heartland kin are thinking and feeling, I simply find out what the big town-folk say and assume that the average Russian feels and supports the diametric opposite.
I have yet to fail using this simple heuristic in my writings and my predictions.
Because I knew that Russia is far more autocratic than the West, I knew that the policies of the Regent and the opinions of the peasantry would be line. Just so, I know that the majority of American heartlanders do not support war with Russia. How? Well, if they did support the war, the Western elites would refuse to give it to them out of spite, would they not? Don’t take my word for it, check in with the heartland kin and report back.
See the lines for what they are. Every cut reveals the same ancient story of struggle between the forces of order and alignment vs the forces of chaos and corruption. You too will start noticing, in time.
