Thanks, great article! US informed Russia about Crocus attack because they knew it was going to happen. The reason they knew - the party who does it (or orders contractors to do it) knows it's going to happen. When you see WaPo calling Russia an "adversary" to the US that's all the proof one needs that they are working on the same side, and the real adversary are us, people. Doesn't matter which country we are located in, we are the targets they set for reduction.

I hear on the Duran that Ukraine is living on borrowed time, Russia is on track to win the war decisively and that the only thing holding the Russian tsunami back is the strategic objective of demolishing the Ukrainian armed forces rather than simply running over Ukraine. The Duran reports how the Russian military adapts to the demands of Ukraine, but I wonder how much the US and European militaries have adapted. After all, we're in the third year of the war, and even the calcified military bureaucracies of the West have had enough time to adapt their tactics and their equipment.

So, what was the reason Russia invaded Ukraine in the first place. Were the objectives stated by Putin real, however unprepared Russia was for the circumstance that Ukraine and the West would simply reject any compromise, and carry on the war? Is Russia just holding on right now by its fingernails? Surely, they must have discussions in the Kremlin, what is their fallback position if everything turns to goo? Even nuclear weapons based 15 minutes from Moscow is not fatal, as Russia does have an automated launch capability even without a command center. Even the most privileged oligarchs cannot have an assurance of survival in a nuclear exchange.

I guess a huge mystery for me is why isn't China seeing this as more of a threat? Why is China keeping a hands-off policy as far as allying itself with Russia? Seems to me the last thing China would want would be for the US to prevail in Ukraine and be able to shift its military resources to intimidating China.
