Slicing the neck of a defenseless prisoner reminds me of somebody, I can’t quite remember who, some Middle Eastern fellow I seem to recall . . .

Of course, yes, this stylized execution stuff appeals to women viewers and not just dark-triad audiences-- I've seen a TV soap opera or gyno-porn murder mystery once or twice.
However, the specific technical/art design aspects of it tends to be entertainment-musical-bachelor-fashion-industry man's work. Straight women don't naturally go in this direction conceptually.
