Russians in Belgorod Lose All Electricity as Putin Declares the Border Region a "Buffer Zone"
This was actually a war to de-nazify Belgorod!
As you will recall, Belgorod has been a never-ending source of embarrassment (assuming they can feel shame) because of non-stop incursion, bombings and callous treatment of the locals by the authorities.
The residents there have it worse than in any city controlled by Kiev.
Here:
Almost 90% of the territory of the Belgorod region is now without electricity due to an attack on a substation in Neznamovo. It was attacked by drones and also by an improvised explosive device, writes Mash.
There will be no retribution for such actions. Now the authorities are in full discussion with respected partners about the parameters of the agreement, and here are some Belgorod residents without electricity. Values that are not comparable for the beneficiaries of privatization.
It has come to my attention while fending off ZAnon kool-aid cultists on Twitter that many think Ukraine has been blasted into the stone age thanks to those all-power air strikes that Shoigu has been lobbing their way.
But this is simply not true.
Yes, Ukraine initially suffered electricity outages in the wake of the first couple of waves of missile strikes which targeted civilian infrastructure to punish Kiev somehow for bombing the bridges in Crimea. At least, I think that was the justification given at the time — Surovikin was supposed to be the hardcore Russian patriot general that would finally bring Ukraine to its knees. Instead, he was implicated in Prigozhin’s coup, disappeared to an FSB dungeon for weeks and was then exiled to Africa eventually.
Point being: places like Kiev had a rough couple of weeks, but then restored the power and never lost it again.
It has been years at this point since they suffered from any forced blackouts.
Putin and his cabal claim that they are fighting a humanitarian moral war, and so these kinds of attacks are ruled out. In reality though, they were cool with targeting electrical transformers and other such infrastructure because it was public property. But, the actual power plants and so on are privately-owned by oligarchs who have friends in both Moscow and the West. Taking those out actually would have forced Ukrainian cities into blackout conditions. I think the strange choices of targeting for the initial bombing campaign, which was abandoned soon after it became clear that Kiev could easily adapt to losing transformers, was informed by business concerns, not as part of any real military strategy.
But I digress.
My point is that cities in Russia are now denied their electrical infrastructure while cities in Ukraine are not. This is, of course, yet another great moral geopolitical victory for the Putin regime, of that there can be no doubt. But what about Putin’s plans to make Belgorod the “sanitary zone” or the “buffer zone” between Moscow and Kiev? Where do we stand on this plan?
Here:
About the sanitary zone
Our comrades, the two majors (https://t.me/dva_majors/46470) and the Belarusian security officer (https://t.me/belarusian_silovik/37082) are discussing the prospects for the border area and the creation of that same sanitary or buffer zone, in connection with another bomb on a civilian car with a family in the Belgorod region.
I report, comrades that: the Ukronazis started targetting civilian cars at least a couple of months ago. These are not random hits, but targeted attacks on civilians.
When they first started talking about sanitary zones, the situation with weapons was different: fpv drones flew at 3-5 km, and shells flew in from 30-40 km. But even then we said that it would be difficult to create a sanitary zone, because 40 km from the Belgorod border is already Kharkov.
Today, the weapons that are created or supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine have become even longer-range. In these conditions, although forced, we state that it is necessary to create a buffer zone on our own territory. This will not be a “gray zone”, but a territory of exclusively military presence.
No matter how bad it sounds, the main thing is to save the lives of civilians - after all, this is why the [SMO] began.
In this regard, of course, it is necessary for the Federal Center to speed up financing programs for the resettlement of people from the border areas. In the Kursk region alone, almost 2,000 families have been on the waiting list for resettlement for a long time, but the need is much higher, because part of the population does not believe that they will be resettled, looking at how slowly the queue is moving. The region will not be able to cope with this, especially since the Kursk region was subsidized even before the SMO.
So, there are questions not only for the General Staff about another lost family, but also for those officials who are pressing for money for resettlement from the border areas. If I’m not mistaken, this is being planned along Khusnullin’s line, that is, approximately in the same place where the issue of resettling migrants from Central Asia to Russia is being resolved. But the priorities there, as we see, are not yet in favor of border residents. [He means that the government is prioritizing shipping migrants into Russia, not evacuating Russian civilians getting bombed by Kiev]
We must admit that a sanitary zone in the form of some kind of strip through which enemy shells will not fly is a fantasy. And if we talk about the war with NATO, then all of Ukraine is a sanitary zone. She needs to be freed. And as soon as the residents of Ukraine remember that they are Russians, then this territory will need to be defended. This means, in the end, we now need to take care of preserving the lives of Russians and continue to win at the front.
So, apparently, the Not-War is going so well that Russians have to evacuated out of Russia. Perhaps they were the Nazis that Putin wanted demilitarized all along?
And another, more recent update about the situation in the north where we were told a large Russian push was being made to create a “sanitary zone” (DMZ) continues to worsen. Here is a timeline:
May 16, 2024 From reports of the General Staff of the Russian Federation: Fighting in the Kharkov direction is taking place near the settlements of Liptsy and Volchansk. Units of the North group of troops continue to successfully advance into the depths of the enemy’s defenses and strike at them.
May 17, 2024 “Russian troops are conducting an operation in the Kharkov region to create a sanitary zone so that Ukrainian troops cannot shell the regions of the Russian Federation” V. Putin.
July 05, 2024 From the reports of the General Staff of the Russian Federation: The North group of troops continues to conduct successful battles in the Volchansky and Liptsovsky directions. ▪️Fierce fighting in Volchansk: “Severyan” assault groups have advanced in the private sector. On the left bank of the Seversky Donets near the settlement. Bugrovatka became entrenched in the adjacent forest area. The general advance of Russian troops in the Volchansky direction is 200 meters.
If the creation of a sanitary zone [DMZ] has been successful, then why does massive shelling of Russian territory and the death of civilian Russian citizens continue? What kind of successful offensive by our group can we talk about when there is a positional deadlock of the 1916 type near Verdun?
For reference: The city of Volchansk has an area of 70 sq. km, a population of 17 thousand people, and is located 10 km from the state border with Russia. On February 24, 2022, on the first day of the Northern Military District, Volchansk was occupied by Russian troops. On September 11, 2022, as a result of the counter-offensive of Ukrainian troops in the Kharkov region and the entry of the Ukrainian Armed Forces onto the state border with Russia, the city was occupied by units of the Ukrainian army.
But don’t worry. Russia’s oligarchs remain steadfast in their commitment to provide the NATO-Nazis with stable supplies of cheap gas through and past 2024. No blackouts in the countries of Moscow’s dear Western partners will be tolerated! This isn’t Belgorod, after all! Here:
⚡️News: Russia is ready to continue gas supplies to Europe through Ukraine after 2024
The Russian side is ready to continue gas supplies to Europe through the territory of Ukraine after the current transit agreement expires at the end of 2024.
“We are ready to supply,” Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak commented to reporters in Astana.
“The question is not ours. First of all, it depends on the desire of Ukraine, since transit is through its territory,” he added.
Honestly, it looks something like this:
"- Hey, Russians! We really need your cheap gas again to make more shells at our factories that will kill you!
“At this moment, we are always ready, as you please!”
Well, isn’t it clear why Europe needed Russian gas and metal again, when they began to increase the production of their military-industrial complex, and they actively need cheap energy and metals [that Russia’s oligarchs would be able to provide]?
At the pace things are going, Belgorod will be taken by Kiev.
There is another big push being prepared by Kiev which will be launched either by the end of 2024 or by early 2025. They have gotten a lot more weapons, mobilized a lot more men, and Russia has thrown away all of her advantages since then and done nothing to prepare for a long, serious war.
Nationalization of the economy? Shit, they can’t even nationalize a single solitary factory! Here:
⚡The Supreme Court unexpectedly overturned all decisions on the nationalization of the plant (will the practice change?)
The Supreme Court of the Russian Federation on Tuesday overturned the judicial acts of lower instances in the case of confiscation into the income of the Russian Federation, at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office, of shares of OJSC Ural Electrical Connectors Plant Iset (Iset Plant, Sverdlovsk Region), a share in which belonged to businessman Malik Gaisin.
(…)
So, briefly about this case: following a lawsuit from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the district court seized the plant’s shares from the businessman (allegedly there were violations during their purchase). This decision survived the appeal and cassation, i.e. the complaints were rejected. However, the lawyers eventually reached the Supreme Commander, who canceled all the acts on June 25. Lawyers are very happy because for the first time the Supreme Court overturned the decision to confiscate the property at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office. The most curious thing is that the controversial plant has already been transferred by the authorities to Rostec, but now everything has become more complicated and the courts will have to consider everything again.
One of the main reasons for the cancellation was the possible missed deadline for challenging transactions (the shares were bought back in the 90s). This is exactly what the lawyers leading the case said. For example, Aivar said that the court had only one question for the prosecutor: why does he think that the statute of limitations should not be taken into account? As you know, the time frame for challenging is now only 3 years (previously it was 10). Moreover, their omission is grounds for refusal of demands, even if they are generally justified.
Why is this decision of the high court so important? The fact is that similar processes regarding the seizure of assets from others are currently in full swing. In particular, we are talking about the high-profile case of the Chelyabinsk Iron and Steel Works, where the court declared transactions dating back to 1992 illegal and seized the plant (the decision was appealed). And there are already many similar cases, but if arguments about missing deadlines are applied, then the practice will change. At the same time, the issue is also important for ordinary citizens, because there are already attempts to challenge their long-standing transactions. And as an example, a recent article on AS “So is there a regression in Russia or not?”, where the author cites specific disputes and risks of losing purchased lands in the Krasnodar Territory (link below).
In other words, we need a balance of private and state interests, and first of all regarding the property and transactions of ordinary citizens (but the fight against swindlers/corruption must take place on all fronts). Perhaps this is precisely the goal that the Supreme Court had in canceling the seizure acts. (c) (https://aftershock.news/?q=node/1393381)
In other words, a corrupt oligarch stole yet another Soviet legacy state factory and now the court is waffling over whether the fact that three years had passed since the seizure is ground to dismiss the case and return it to the oligarch. Here:
Just wonderful. You will have to remember (https://t.me/rus_demiurge/76985) - if you “squeezed out” a factory for yourself and held out for three years, then you are its full-fledged owner, and the state and people [are left out to dry].
You see, you can cancel the nationalization of any illegally acquired enterprise, even three times of state importance, in two clicks due to the statute of limitations of three years!
What can we talk about next? What kind of transition to a war footing and confrontation with NATO are we talking about if the West tomorrow convinces the owner to refuse to work for the country?
Thanks you to Comrade Kim and Iran, [they are our last hope].
So, in conclusion, three years into the SMO and we have:
Belgorod indefensible; talks of evacuating the civilian population from there (only once Muhammed and his cousins’ needs are taken care of first, of course)
A state that cannot even nationalize recently stolen absolutely VITAL steel and coal and mass-production factories for fear of stepping on an oligarch’s toes
Iran and North Korea providing a lifeline for Russia (for how long)
And all the raw resources that NATO needs to keep this war running on the cheap still flowing unabated through Ukraine
Wonderful.
And we are only 6 months into 2024. What fresh new horrors will the fall and winter bring?
Are you still trusting Ze Plan?
Essentially, the war is a scam for oligarchs on both "sides" - https://streamfortyseven.substack.com/p/the-us-is-running-the-war-in-ukraine BTW, any reference to "Biden" deciding anything other than his daily flavor of ice cream should not be taken seriously - in light of this: https://streamfortyseven.substack.com/p/age-competence-and-obvious-puppet The troops on both sides should drive the Muslims out from both Russia and Ukraine, Putin and Zelenskyy should surrender to each other, admitting that both have successfully lost the war, and the troops should just say "Fuck it" and go fishing, or listen to good music - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOs5DyOs-Q4 or https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DECu5NaqUDY for example.
I shudder to think of the Russians' fate in the 4 states "liberated" by Russia after they are betrayed in any "peace" settlement. Russia will be lucky to keep Crimea, It's so tragic.
And has Donetsk had a SINGLE day since 2014 when it wasn't shelled?
