Gotta say it’s been a strange day. Trump, born on Flag Day, as if his entire life’s mission, from the day he was born, was to destroy the USA as the 16 tarot trump card - the Tower. Today this happens to fall on a new moon, when the moon goes dark. I’m oddly sanguine about it.

In related news, yet another Russian tanker seized - this time by UK! [1]

Anyone keeping count of those?

[1] UK Intercepts 'Russian Shadow' Fleet Vessel in Unprecedented English Channel Commando Boarding | ZeroHedge

https://www.zerohedge.com/geopolitical/uk-intercepts-russian-shadow-fleet-vessel-unprecedented-english-channel-commando

Excerpt: British Royal Marine Commandos conducted a high-stakes midnight raid in the English Channel on Sunday, boarding and seizing a sanctioned Russian "shadow fleet" oil tanker. The elite UK forces conducted a fast-roping raid onto the massive crude carrier in the dead of night and into the morning daylight hours. While there's nothing new in terms of an 'illicit' Russian tanker seizure in European waters, it is rare or even unprecedented that such an action occurred in the English Channel, so close to Britain's shores.

What were the stakes? Being politely told to piss off?

On point #1 I postulate it’s the other way around. Governments are covering up the actions of the international intelligence agencies. Politicians deliver a tissue of lies and likewise are cheap & disposable to the actual powerbrokers.

"Iran was bombed with impunity, its entire leadership decapitated."

Wait a second; "was" bombed; "decapitated". Why the past tense? Are you finally acknowledging that after Iran's Mossad-controlled leaders were taken out, the plan went kerfluey -- no uprising, new leaders hardliners not in on the game -- resulting in 4 months of real war -- Tel Aviv bombed, Jews fleeing, US bases destroyed, etc.

Because really, the whole Iran situation post Feb 28-- from Iran's response to today's supposed "deal" -- doesn't in any way shape or form correspond to the other conflicts you list.

Without that slight adjustment -- modifyiing your theory to fit new facts -- what difference is there between "Iran is in on it. don't be fooled!" and Trump's delusional dealings with the real, "more reasonable" Iranians behind the scenes?

🏴‍☠️🇺🇸⚔️🇱🇧🇮🇷🇮🇷 Zionist Security Minister Ben Gvir: “The Trump agreement imposes no obligations on us, and Israel is not subordinate to the United States; we are an independent and sovereign state.”

“We cannot accept less than the dismantling of Hezbollah, we cannot withdraw from any area our fighters have controlled, we cannot return to a situation where thousands of armed men sit on the Northern borders, and certainly we cannot remain silent, even for a moment, in the face of firing towards Israel.”

Doesn't seem like the parts of the MoU deal that these new Iranians wanted will be implemented. What then did they gain from engaging in these talks? A lifting of the blockade? So, after being bombed and humiliated, they get to return to selling their oil?

Seems a lot like Putin. So long as they can sell energy, they'll take any humiliation.

Funny how the statement by Ben Gvir sheds light on the subordination of European states.

"Putin got lured into a trap, just like Saddam in Ukraine" - i don't understand this argument in either case. If you accept the maximalist case for Saddam being tricked into war, the UN resolution still gave Saddam 45 days to leave. Did Israeli mind-control rays prevent Saddam from just going home at that point? No, Saddam just thought he could win by imposing unacceptable casualties on the west.

At the time it was not at all clear the coalition was going to roll over the Iraqis like they did. The US was a spent force after Vietnam and nobody thought they had achieved full spectrum dominance through its work in the 80s.

Similarly nothing stopped Putin from declaring victory and going home a few weeks in, and building off those gains to slowly conquer luhansk and donetsk. That would just entail recognizing Ukraine and allowing whatever survived of it to join NATO and he was unwilling to give up his ideological goal.

Have you never heard of the highway of death? That was from the saddam pullout

David Cruise's avatar

Yeah, at that point we were at war, his forces were pushed out of Kuwait and we were cleaning up the ones that withdrew instead of surrendering. He could have left any time in December or the first half of January and no blood would have been shed

I’m sure there’s a reason. With Ukraine, Putin milled around Kiev until he got that agreement signed and then he withdrew as rapidly as possible. Probably there was something going on behind the scenes with Saddam and the US and the UN is irrelevant btw. He also ran for it but too late.

Sofa strategist believes that saddam deliberately let his army get destroyed once he was handed terms.

Well, Boris Johnson apparently "suggested" to zelenski to continue fighting the war so...
