DISASTROUS: Putin's Presser With State-Sanctioned War Correspondents Left Russia's Patriots With Their Jaws Hanging!
Control what the president knows and you control the president.
First things first: I look away from the battlefield for 12 hours and now they’re already dropping nukes.
Note: no, they are not actually dropping nukes yet. We would hear uproar about it if they did.
But there has been fierce fighting along the line of contact. Villages have switched hands. Losses are mounting. No breakthroughs by the UAF though.
Prigozhin says that the UAF has enjoyed modest successes in recent days (100 square km captured), the loss of a few NATO tanks notwithstanding. I think he is playing down the success of the defense and the incompetence of the UAF attack. We’ve seen stiff Russian resistance, a lot of strange maneuvers by the UAF and a lot of destroyed equipment.
Yes, the Bradleys are no big deal because America has lots more where that came from. But let’s be real here, the loss of the Leopards was a blow indeed because a) they threw them away so easily, some not even making it to the Russian lines demonstrated that NATO isn’t getting bang for buck and b) these wunder-weapons were proven to be rather average and capable of being taken out by old Soviet stuff.
There is still plenty of fighting left, but I see no reason to be alarmed just yet.
..
But now we come to the meeting that Putin had with the war-correspondents. None of the people that I read or take seriously were asked to attend, naturally, because they are not in favor at the court and they share bad news from the front and critique the Not-War effort.
Can’t have that now can we?
Rumors that Putin has been kept in the dark have been circulating for awhile and I lend them a lot of credence. Short of Putin being a NATO agent himself, recruited when he was a KGB colonel by Kissinger himself, tasked with destroying Russia, there isn’t really an explanation for why he would deliberately launch a disastrous SMO and by doing so undermine his legacy and everything that he and his friends have built. My theory is that he was given very bad info by his FSB and his oligarch friends who wanted to take over Ukraine and rule it themselves, like Medvedchuk.
Here:
If we wanted proof of this theory one way or the other, events like this, rare indeed, where Putin shares his views on the SMO situation allow us to check to see just how in-the-loop he is or not. I am wading through the transcript of his meeting as we speak and translating it. There are some serious jaw-dropping moments from Putin in it that floored me.
For example, he reaffirms the right of Ukraine to be sovereign and chides those who want to “undo” Ukraine!!!
The existence of Ukraine is sacred to Putin, apparently, and so while the policies pursued by Ukraine’s leadership are unacceptable, that does not mean that Ukraine ought not to exist as an independent state in the future. This is the smoking gun proof of the “Ukraine 2.0” Kremlin conspiracy plot to simply swap out Ukraine’s oligarchs for Moscows exposed by Moiseev which I covered here:
Putin also expressed his complete dumbfoundment that Zelensy, who Putin believes to be a Jew, supports Neo-Nazism in Ukraine. In Putin’s understanding of the world, Russia is the inheritor of the anti-fascist (jewish) spirit and the defender of the Jews from nationalists who would do them harm. Putin has made similar statements in the past, when he tried to invite Europe’s Jews to come live in Russia.
Russia’s top propagandist also tries to portray Russia as the Jews’ greatest ally in their campaign to destroy the idols of Esau/Edom worldwide, by which he means non-kosher nationalism, which is a chief sin against Yahweh (ask any Christian priest if you don’t believe me!) and by extension, the Jewish people.
Putin, like Trump and many other world-leaders, clearly views the well-being and prosperity of Jews as a top priority for his government. And that is a commendable thing indeed.
Note: I do not see color or race or species so when I look at Zelensky and his government I do not see Jews running Ukraine, but a group of mammals identical to myself. Science has concluded that we are all mammals. I condemn Putin’s observation that Zelensky is Jewish by pointing out that rhetoric like this only serves in fostering division among mammals.
It warms my heart to see mammals supporting mammals like this, against all odds. Bravo, Putin! Sadly, Russia’s Jewish mammals continue emigrating from Russia en masse and condemning Russians for being Fascists (mammals).
Oh well.
Putin also expressed total unconcern!!! about the use of depleted uranium shells in Ukraine. Asked point blank whether or not Russia should start enforcing red lines and take a more proactive approach to prevent Ukraine from being poisoned by the munitions, he said that well, Russia has depleted shells too as if this was an answer. It was an answer, but, it was a very bad answer and probably the result of the journalist slipping in an unexpected question.
No one can read that answer and come away feeling assured that Putin knows what he is doing and takes red lines seriously.
Q: “But won’t they poison Ukraine!”
A: “Yes, but we can and will poison Ukraine as well should it come to it!”
Also, earlier in the interview, he confirmed that the energy strikes were Russia’s punishment against Kiev crossing a red line when they took back Kherson. This was exactly the position of this blog. I wrote that the strikes were completely useless militarily and done for PR reasons to save Russia’s higher-ups’ face. And now you hear the confirmation from the mouth of Putin himself that Rolo was right, yet again.
VINDICATED!
Actually, there were so many bizarre bombshell moments in the interview and I am only delaying my own work on the translation by dropping teasers here.
The conclusions that the uninvited war-correspondents have drawn from his comments are not particularly promising either.
Case in point:
Meet the “Black Colonel”. His real name is Viktor Imantovich Alksnis and he is definitely one of /ourguys/. I went to the liberty of digging up this interview of him from two decades ago where he explains the situation in Russia quite clearly and calls for a “Third Position” or “Third Path” separate from the Liberalism championed by Putin, and Communism championed by Zyuganov.
You’re welcome and enjoy:
"Russia needs a Party of the Third Way"
Publication date: April 25, 2000Aleksey Sidorin: Viktor Imantovich, you returned to big politics from political semi-oblivion at the moment when there appeared a real or, in any case, the opportunity promised by the authorities to get closer to the implementation of what you set your sights on so many years ago. What forces would you be able to join now - to Putin or in the old fashioned way, as many patriots do - to Zyuganov?
Victor Alksnis: I am equidistant from both Putin and Zyuganov. But I can say that my return to big politics is not an accident. Yes, certain new shifts have now taken place in connection with changes in the leadership of Russia. But I don't find anything new there. I have been talking with my comrades about the need to return Russia's policy to the statist channel since 1991. And, honestly, I am glad that there is a public need for those ideas that I profess - patriotism and statehood. The state, its integrity, stability are absolute values that do not depend on the dominant ideology and economic structure. I spoke about this back in 1989, calling for the abandonment of "isms". I think I was right then.
YES! YES! YES!
He must be a reader of this blog and a time traveller, there is no other explanation for why he is promoting Rolo-ism. Also, he clearly read my book, which lambasts “isms” and you should too.

*phew*
Boy, it felt good to get it all off my chest. I hate my ungrateful, crass, casual readers so much it is unreal. Sometimes I need to remind them that I am under no illusions about them. I actually hope that they finally give me excuse by the end of the month to cut them off forever. Either way, the terrorizing of the casuals will continue until the end of the month as promised.

OK, the Black Colonel continues:
Today, most Russian politicians declare their adherence to the ideas of statehood and patriotism, and yet ten years ago, not everyone would have dared to publicly recognize themselves as a patriot and statesman, it was considered almost shameful. And the fact that the concepts of "state", "state", "Motherland", sacred to any person, have been rehabilitated, is also my merit. At the same time, I am grateful to fate that I "disappeared into obscurity" at a time when criminal privatization was carried out in the country. I am glad that I did not participate in this general bacchanalia and that nothing stuck to my hands.
A.S.: How are you going to get along with the government, which now also preaches the ideas of statehood and national priorities?
V.A.: I have never aspired and do not aspire to portfolios and posts. If I had, my life would have been very different. Yes, now these ideas are coming from the lips of both my opponents and my colleagues. Let's just say that I returned to slightly correct their ideas about statehood. Firstly, I do not believe in the absolute adherence to these ideas of those politicians who are now broadcasting about them from a high rostrum. I certainly support Vladimir Putin in the way he manages today's Chechen campaign. But I am frightened by many of his other statements, which cannot but be interpreted otherwise than as ambiguous.I mean the refusal to review the results of privatization, the provision of guarantees to Yeltsin and flirting with NATO. I am not sure that tomorrow he will not announce something else, for example, the beginning of the fight against cosmopolitanism. In such cases, I will subject Putin's actions to harsh criticism.
Putin recently reaffirmed that he was pursuing NATO membership for Russia for many years.
This is because Putin was pro-Globalist and pro-West for most of his career. He was put into office because of these traits in the first place. We all hoped that he would sober up eventually, but, it seems that Hell will sooner freeze over.
A.S.: That is, Putin's ambiguous behavior causes you legitimate concern. And how do you assess the mood of the political elites?
V.A.: I confess that in the first days I was extremely disappointed with the situation in the hall of the State Duma. I got the impression that everything is already known in advance. Yesterday, many parliamentarians occupied irreconcilable positions towards the supreme power, but now all without exception are silky and obedient. This worries me. And this despite the fact that many people began to think that the arrival of a sane majority in the Duma would finally lead to order in lawmaking and stability in our troubled life. I don't think so. This is exactly the case when like-mindedness is unlikely to lead to anything good.
A.S.: It turns out that while you are alone... But are there any prospects for real changes in the near future?
V.A.: Of course, it is difficult to fight alone. But as you discuss the new Duma now, remember the old Supreme Soviet. It will seem to you that there are almost no correspondences between them. But this is only at first glance. I want to remind you that at the beginning of its existence - in 1991 - the Supreme Soviet of Russia was almost completely pro-Yeltsin. And where did it lead two years later? The entire pro-Yeltsin majority in 1993 became disillusioned with Yeltsin and switched to patriotic positions. I admit that if Putin appears before everyone as an ardent radical liberal, then very soon, as in the case of the Supreme Council, this may cause rejection from Putin of the majority of deputies now sympathizing with him.I think that one way or another the mood of the deputies will change in a year or two. But these shifts will occur gradually.
A.S.: How do you see your contribution to this process?
VA: I think that Russia is at a crossroads again. Sobering up is finally coming into society, the realization that in 1989-1991 there was a struggle not with the USSR, but with Russia, with its age-old interests, a struggle for the dismemberment of the country. Many people who actively fought against the "Evil Empire" are beginning to realize that they were simply being used. In any case, this does not honor them: they should have had a head on their shoulders. But, as they say, better late than never. And for these people, and there are already quite a lot of them, it becomes clear that neither the communist nor the liberal paths are fully suitable for Russia. That in the current difficult conditions it is necessary to be able to preserve the germinated sprouts of the new that Russia needs, and to take all the best from the old.We need a normal political third force, powerful and intellectual, which would profess the ideals of the Third Way. I hope to participate in the formation of this force.
A.S.: How do you assess Russia's recent actions to protect the interests of the Russian-speaking residents of Latvia and, in particular, the reaction of the Kremlin to the "case" of Vasily Kononov?
VA: I have the impression that today Russia is losing this case. The Kremlin should have acted more actively. It was necessary to launch a broad propaganda campaign with the involvement of the international community of those countries that do not approve of the policy of revanchism. Unfortunately, the story of Andrei Babitsky's exchange overshadowed the case of Vasily Kononov. The liberal media paid much less attention to the latter, although it should have been the other way around. Besides, Russia has more effective levers of influence on Latvia. I do not mean a total economic blockade or, God forbid, a threat of war. But we can put some economic pressure on them. Now the State Duma is passing a law on appropriate sanctions against Latvia. The law provides for sanctions at the national level. This approach is more effective than regional sanctions, which are easy to circumvent. The question is often asked, how will the sanctions affect the standard of living of the Russian inhabitants of Latvia? I answer that many Russian-speaking residents of Latvia would wholeheartedly approve of such measures by the Russian authorities and would even be ready to endure certain difficulties in the name of fighting for their rights. However, Russia today is not ready for a full-scale imposition of sanctions due to objective economic and some other reasons. The matter is that in the Russian government there is a strong lobby connected with the Latvian financial and political circles by close business relations. But Russia cannot continue to turn a blind eye to what is happening in the republic. A thoughtful and systematic campaign of moral, diplomatic and economic pressure on Latvia is needed. Sooner or later, this will force Riga to change its policy.
A.S.: What do you think as a professional soldier about the current Chechen campaign? What catches your eye the most?
V.A.:I think that our generals are running ahead a little, declaring the end of large-scale hostilities. At the same time, as in the first campaign, they make incompetent mistakes, which are associated, first of all, with the adjustment of joint actions. A purely army miscalculation of this war is the insufficient funding of the army in conducting a military campaign of such magnitude and importance. The technical equipment of our troops is simply frail. Soldiers are often doomed to death, having no special means for waging a modern war, despite the fact that the enemy is most often provided with them. For example, in my district there is a plant that can produce ultra-modern next-generation night vision devices. And the Ministry of Defense simply does not have the money to purchase them. On the other hand, I also see positive developments. Firstly, Tactics chosen correctly - no compromises with the enemy. Secondly, I cannot but rejoice at the high fighting spirit of our military, subordinates of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. It is gratifying that people are fighting in Chechnya, knowing full well that they are thereby defending the interests of their homeland. There is absolutely no aimlessness of the struggle. And, thirdly, the most important achievement of the second Chechen campaign is the relatively benevolent information support of events. In many ways, the success of our troops became possible thanks to the following the mood of the people and therefore a more objective point of view of the Russian media.
Good, now that you know a little about the Black Colonel and his view on Putin and the similarities of the Chechen war to this one, you might actually take what he has to say about this DISASTROUS presser/talk seriously:
I am very upset by the meeting of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin with the military correspondents.
Many encouraging words were said. But in actual fact, nothing was said about the real situation at the front.
It was a shock to me that the president has absolutely no control over the situation at the front, does not know which territories are under our control and which ones are controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief declared: “Look, our troops were near Kiev. Firstly, we agreed [with Ukraine], and it turned out to be a good agreement on how to resolve the current situation by peaceful means, although they threw it out, but nevertheless, during this time we got to where we are now. And this is practically the whole of Novorossia and a significant part of Donetsk with access to the Sea of Azov and Mariupol. And almost everything, with a few exceptions, in the Luhansk People's Republic.
Wow.
Putin claims that he struck a deal with Zelensky and that is why Russia pulled out for no discernible reason.
MYSTERY SOLVED!!!
Allow me [to say some words], Vladimir Vladimirovich!
You claim that almost all of Novorossia has already been liberated, and this allows you to start saying that the declared goals of the NWO are being successfully fulfilled, and therefore we can talk about the completion of the NWO?
Mr. President! Take a look at encyclopedic dictionaries and read what Novorossiya is! Especially since you started using this name back in 2014.
Let me remind you that Novorossia is part of the territory of present-day Ukraine from Kharkov to Odessa.
Is the territory of the Kharkiv region and the city of Kharkiv under our control?
And the city of Odessa and the Odessa region have also been liberated?
And the city of Nikolaev and the Nikolaev region have already become part of the Russian Federation?
What do you mean by "a significant part of Donetsk"? Isn't the former Donetsk region part of the DPR? But SIXTY PERCENT of its territory is still under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine today. And for fifteen months we have not been able to drive the Ukrainian army out of Maryinka and Avdiivka, in fact, the suburbs of Donetsk, from where the capital of Donbass is being shelled every day. But have Slavyansk and Kramatorsk, like hundreds of other settlements of Donbass, already been liberated?
What kind of sanitary belt are you talking about if we were unable to drive the enemy away even from Donetsk, subjecting NINE YEARS to torment, suffering and the threat of death of its inhabitants?
After your words, which I quoted, I once again became convinced that our affairs are bad if the Supreme Commander-in-Chief is absolutely not in control of the situation at the front. And I remembered another Supreme Commander-in-Chief - Joseph Stalin, to whom the Chief of the General Staff, General Antonov, daily personally reported the situation on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War with the obligatory display on the maps. And Stalin knew the situation by heart.
I don't want to give you advice because it's obviously useless, but try to get a detailed map of the fighting in Ukraine on your office wall, where all the changes in the course of the fighting will be noted daily. Which it is advisable to submit to you personally after the daily report of the current Chief of the General Staff, General Gerasimov, or even Minister of Defense Shoigu. Maybe then you will not be disgraced to the whole world by ignorance of the situation at the front?
Putin also talks about about creating what appears to be an occupied buffer zone spanning the border of Ukraine and Russia. This is incredibly ambitious given the current situation and maybe even outright unhinged. Putin is talking as if hundreds of thousands of square kilometers are soon to be under the control of the Russian military. He also categorically condemns calls for mobilization of more men.
You can’t make this up. Jaw-dropping stuff.
Finally, let’s hear what Strelkov had to say, as per tradition:
While there are no ne news from the front, I decided to "tread" a little more on yesterday's "pearls" [of wisdom] from the president.
So, yesterday, the President deigned to tell a bunch of "admitted to the table" correspondents and blogo-whores (like Podlyaki) that "in case the enemy continues to attack our territory (blah blah blah) - we will consider the issue of creation (blah blah blah) of a "sanitary zone".
At the same time, taking into account the fact that no mobilization is planned yet, I would like to ask the president and his amazing advisers:
"And with what forces to establish this sanitary cordon zone, WHEN the enemy continues attacks and shelling, and IF the" consideration "shows the need to create such a zone?"
Almost all combat-ready units and formations, staffed by contract soldiers and mobilized, are involved at the front. And the border is covered in cooperation with a few units of border guards, units consisting mainly of "conscripts". which will not be allowed to enter the hypothetical "sanitary zone". (Border guards, theoretically, it is possible, but there are too few of them). "Akhmat"? And he - without the support of the army - will go alone? And will they go far / fight a lot without interacting with regular units? - I think he won’t “win” anything ... And if you suddenly assume that the enemy will let him “calmly enter” like this, then what line of defense of the “sanitary zone” can he hold alone? Kilometers 30, or even 50? And who will keep the remaining 200-300 km?
And even if you send a "reanimated" Wagner "to sanitize" the territory of the Kharkov and Sumy regions, there will still not be enough troops for a full-fledged new "sanitary" front.
"Oh, these fairy tales! Oh, these storytellers!"
Yeah, that’s putting it lightly.
Naturally, no one who attended the presser uttered a peep. They had their one/two questions and they were grateful for even that.
Putins yammering about how Ukraine totally has every right to exist and is a totally real country and he only wants them to respect Russia should apply to....well every country in the world trying to destroy Russia shouldn't it? The same could be said about the US, Poland, etc etc right? Furthermore more isnt Putin contradicting himself when he correctly said over a year ago that the Bolsheviks created modern Ukraine? Hell even Russias neo Stalinist agree with Putins apparently now former opinion on that and consider it a mistake that needs to be corrected hence their support for the SMO.
https://t.me/t_artm/314
So creating modern Ukraine wasnt a communist mistake its just the autarky, free apartments, strong military, lack of foreign bank accounts for the ruling class, lack of opportunity for central asians to colonize Russia proper, those were the actual mistakes. Artificially dividing the Russian people wasnt one of the mistakes now..just face palm and cringe. And isn't this an admission that Russia is no longer interested in showing what true de-communization for Ukraine actually entails? Putin outright said that Russia was going to show whats true de-communization in Ukraine looked like. So the goal posts have been seriously shifted apparently.
The utter gayness and exasperating cringe of Putins interview has managed to dampen my good mood about the offensive so far not going great for Ukraine. Was this appalling Q&A an attempt to show the US that in light of the Ukrainian offensive not making much progress that the Kremlin is ready to be fooled again and start negotiating? That the Kremlin isnt going to ask for much and just settle for keeping the currently liberated territories in exchange for Minsk 3? Thats what it looks like to me.
Lets just have Zelensky sign a piece of paper that says Ukraine agrees that Russia shouldnt be destroyed and call it good. Than in a few years we can all express shock and outrage that the Kremlin was lead by the nose again.
