That linked review of Fight Club in the post is quite naive, very pre-Internet. Does not talk about the film at all.
It reminds me of reading John Derbyshire from the early 00s: all civic nationalist and respectful of democracy, proud of his open-mindedness in marrying a Chinese. Milquetoast about pretty much anything but feeling like the most radical subversive.

I wholeheartedly agree with his characterization of the SMO as merely the center of a much wider civilizational war against the nihilistic ideology of Western liberalism. A war Russia cannot lose. Espousing such views will make you many powerful enemies, outside and inside Russia I guess.
