As an American, I obviously have no knowledge of the make-up or strength of the Russian military. I cannot help but suspect that, at the very top, their generals, like ours, are primarily politicians and less than capable leaders of fighting men. The Peter Principle holds true in all businesses.
Most of Napoleon's successes were the result of fighting against generals who were in their seventies or eighties. In the American Civil War, Lincoln made the mistake of having an old man, Winfield Scott, as the Commanding General (until he was replaced by McClellen).
I suspect that the Wagner Group is spear-heading every successful effort by the Russian Army and that they are no different than Navy Seals and the Special Forces in every branch of the US military.
The choice of General Sergei Surovikin as the overall commander of Russian forces fighting in Ukraine seems wise. He was successful in fighting rebels in Syria and is a determined and resourceful war fighter.
I question your derision of America's Space Force, however. Many in the military applauded President Trump when he started this new branch of the service. Certainly, warfare in space will be the next Big Thing. Whether it is destroying enemy satellites or attacking Earth with weapons in space, the Space Force is to the 21st Century what the Air Force became in the 20th.
It would not surprise nor disappoint me to see hypersonic missiles destroy the Ukrainian Government Building in Kiev. It would send a double message to the fascists if such an attack came from a satellite.
Frankly, I do not know why Russia did not take advantage of their strengths; that is, use their superior missile power to raze the Ukrainian military HQ and kill the commanders.. I get that Zelensky uses citizens as human shields but that is their choice, not the Russians. Regardless of collateral damage, the Ukranian command should have been decimated. UK. French, and US ships should have been sunk. Their aircraft shot out of the sky, wherever they are. Observing the rules of war is fine, but the west is not, so why is Russia.
Second, we know that Russia has the best intelligence service in the world, so why is it not being used. One third of the West would cheerfully wipe out their own murderous politicians, so why not assist them?
And, finally, where the hell is China in all of this. Does Xi not comprehend he is next. Somebody, please, send Xi a copy of the 2015 Rand Report and tell him to use it as a crystal ball; which is historically valid.
Far be it for me to be indiscreet, but effing hell, we need Xi and Vlad to wipe out the US and end the military occupation of Australia. We want our country back. Stop stuffing around.
>that is, use their superior missile power to raze the Ukrainian military HQ and kill the commanders..
Because they all used to know one another probably.
>so why is Russia.
Because it is politically impossible at home to go all out, apparently.
>And, finally, where the hell is China in all of this.
Buying Russian gas and tech at a discount and making $$$.
>Does Xi not comprehend he is next?
The Chinese are merchants who have always lost every single war they've ever been pulled into. Wouldn't put much hope in them tbh. True Han nationalists are jailed by Xi and his lunatic government which is shutting down entire cities for no reason.
>We want our country back. Stop stuffing around.
I could turn that right around on you, my man. What are you waiting for?
Why politically impossible at home to got all out?
I'd think that if they don't go all out very soon they will suffer a humiliating defeat or at best get mired in a long Vietnam type war that will drain the economy and the people.
Maybe China also would not like a Russia that is too strong and successful, and prefer one that is somewhat weakened, more dependent on them, and so very much relegated to the role of the very, very junior partner -- just like the USA likes a weakened and dependent Europe, that won't and can't get uppity with them.
John... I think you have just sprung Xi. He believes he will be World Emperor and the leader of the first global dynasty following the glorious 5000 years. It is therefore in his interests to let the US, Russia, UK and Germany destroy themselves. He can then pick off the winner with ease. Dunno why I didn't see this sooner. Nicely sussed, mate.
The proxy war being fought by the USA in Ukraine will determine who the World Emperor will be. Obama threw his hat in for this job more than a decade ago and it is his appointees that are making all of Joe Biden's decisions.
Obama is a liutenant, nothing more. The global empire has been in the active planing stage for 205 years and only Zionist Ashkenazim are in the running. The former leader was David Rockefeller but when he died in March 2017, his sole appointee, Rupert Murdoch, assumed the mantle. Why do people imagine politicians are anything else but puppets.? Of course, being alergic to assassination, Murdoch promotes useful baits.
Good comments, Rolo. Points taken. People are generally unaware that Australia was annexed in 1975 by th eCIA and MI6. They own our politicians. The reason we have not commenced fighting is that while I was overseas they stole my gun. They confiscated everybody elses gun. I am not allowed a gun licence. I live in a sparsely populated tropical region which is overrun with US installations, including Abraham tanks, MV22 ospreys, Five Eyes, Pine Gap, 3500 Marines, the CIA, a submarine base, a Ratheon missile site, two arcraft staging aeas, several secret training bases, and the two hemispheral spy and navigation satellite relay stations. Ergo, we are outnumbered and all we have is spears. If you guys armed us we would be in business.
Tony, I wonder if most Australians are aware of this? It would be good if someone could document this with photos and video say and try and get it online. It does suggest that if there is a showdown between US and China over Taiwan, which might easily escalate to nuclear, these US bases will be attacked and of course therefore Australia. It would not take many Chinese nuclear warheads to wipe out all significant Australian cities - one missile with multiple warheads would do the lot. It might be case for moving to Woop Woop (or NZ which for all its many idiocies hasn't yet been quite as stupidJ).
John, There is a total media blackout on the subject of US dragging us into WWIII. Even though former Prime Minister Malcolm Fraser warned us this would happen if we did not disengage with the US, almost nobody knows about it. Rupert Murdoch controls all media in Australia and, in fact, the entire western world. Few seem to have realised that when the former Earth CEO David Rockefeller passed away in 2017, he passed the global dictator role to Murdoch, who in turn dangles Gates, Schwarb, Fauci, and co as assassination bait. As to NZ, they are 95% jabbed and 100% un-democratised, and lost their popular control to the MMP political voting system back in 1997. Their political leaders, especially Helen Clarke and Jacinda Adern, were promised UN roles if they surrendered sovereignty. Another dimension is NZ is an economic colony of China. So, yes, I have my deep wilderness hideaway outside of nuclear fallout winds.
I'm afraid you're right Ryan, NZ is trying to suck up to both the US and China. But maybe that does make more sense than what Oz is doing. Oh, and by the way I'm waiting in anticipation for a news flash in the local papers (Gold Coast) saying.. "Northern Territory; Well thrown spear (with stick of dynamite attached) through open window demolishes US Humvee and marines"
John... I have a confession to make. Yes, I am pretty good with a spear, and I have several, but several months ago, in a moment of paranoia, I visited the US Marine Corp visiting my town on exercise in the north and wanted to get a handle on their capacity and willingness to hunt down people like me. We got on like a house on fire. I asked them to explain the engineering behind their MV22 Osprey vertical takeoff craft and they devoted one and a half hours to explaining it all. I have to admit, I fell in love with that aircraft. I want one. And all the Marines I met were really good guys, which means I am now utterly compromised as an effective guerilla fighter. The shame of it all. But I can still kill all our politicians though. There is nothing to like or admire there.
This is off-topic, but was listening to a live interview on the Duran with an American named Tim Kirby. He has lived in Russia for 15 years, has a family and is not planning on leaving, ever. What struck me was his opinion that Moscow was a cesspool, filled with liberals that he called traitors and people who hate Russia. He put most of the media leaders in that category. Anyway, it reminded me of things you have written. He definitely is a right-wing populist culturally. I don't know if you would be interested in interviewing him.
My greatest concern is over Russia's military technology. American HIMARS – High Mobility Artillery Rocket System – is a truck-mounted cannister of 6 missiles capable of launching pinpoint strikes against targets up to 53 miles (85 kilometers). Washington has sent 16 to Ukraine.
In contrast, Russia has been launching indiscriminate artillery volleys.
Russia is fatally reliant on access to Western, primarily American, technology. Only 5% of the munitions Russia has used in Syria were smart weapons. Russia doesn’t have nearly enough precision systems. Exacerbating the situation, their targeting intelligence is poor. In addition, manufacturing problems limit Russia’s production of advanced weapons. Russia has already used a substantial amount of its precision munitions in Ukraine.
Computer chips and semiconductors have revolutionized war by improving guidance and communications. Copying American technology has pervaded Russia’s chip industry. This is a fatal flaw in an industry that progresses with extreme rapidity – Russia is forever playing catchup. Russian weapon systems are full of Western chips. Russia’s 9M549 satellite guided rockets are fired from the Tornado-S which is similar to HIMARS but not as accurate. However, they rely on smuggled chips produced by US companies such as Altera and Cypress Semiconductor. They only manufacture 100 to 200 a year because they require chips and other components from the West. Where they can’t acquire the components, they improvise.
Some estimates are that Russia has already used 55% of its entire stockpile of guided missiles in Ukraine.
We can only hope & pray for a radical change in the situation. I'm very worried.
There is no indication Kremlin wishes to win the war. There is every indication they will jump at the first opportunity to negotiate. Telltale signs light up Moscow like a Christmas tree. Kadyrov himself used to constantly say how he prays Putin will allow the troops to keep marching while the commander of his Chechen forces wanted to go conquer Europe. Silence now. So assuming a big if, the army is taking this seriously now, we can expect a bloody battle for the 4 regions in the winter, unless the Americans shut it down to make themselves look good. The narrative that Russia got humiliated with them barely lifting a finger and now they have decided to show mercy and restore world order.
The fallout is the best we can hope for at this point. This is absolutely shameful. I don't think the 4 regions would be returned but I doubt there will be a victory day in any true sense.
Declaring mobilization out of last minute necessity. They don't perceive it as a war, neither do they want the population to perceive it as a war.
Erdogan seems way too involved and if he's calling for negotiations and meetings it's not a good sign. He's not stupid. Asking to defer payment for gas is not a good sign.
The shekels and the trains running on time seems to be the only domestic policy. Where is the war rhetoric? Why is friendship with Central Asia so important right now? Who benefits from immigrants?
Why the fuck is Israel so quiet? Khazaria needs help.
Why are low level Bureaucrats so nervous and patriotic? How is it possible they're not in the loop? On the other hand why is the propaganda arm not in the loop?
The pipelines could have been bombed in the early summer. Seems like America is tying up loose ends because they think the cow is about to run out of milk.
Dont forget Modi in India is also offering to broker a deal. The vultures are circling. Russia needs to stop screwing around and put the boot in on this or slink off and let Globohomo tear the country up with CIA chimps like Navalny.
Washington's long-standing primary goal is regime change in Moscow & getting rid of Putin so they can install a puppet - Yeltsin 2.0. Hand-in-hand with that is dismembering Russia into subjugated statelets so they can resume the rape & pillage of Russia's natural resources as they did in the 1990s for American corporations while throwing some crumbs to their European NATO vassals. Do you have any idea how pathologically Russophobic the American ruling caste is?! These people - Dark Queen Nuland who engineered the fascist Maidan coup & her vile husband Kagan, etc. etc. - ought to be institutionalized but they're calling the shots in Washington with a brain-dead puppet president in advanced stages of dementia. People need to wake up!
Dear Rolo, we, westerners, really need a russia/west dictionnary.

Even being armed doesnt allow for much. The American STASI shuts down any legitimate resistance. Look at Revolver's work on J6 and the Whitmer case.

Yes. Yes it is.
These people want you dead and they think it's funny.
Certainly, adapt the intrinsic hatred of your mortal enemy and make it your own. Not exactly a winning philosophy but it seemingly serves many well.

Very informative read. Thanks
I liked the Chechens too, bc they at least talked the talk. Sadly they may be all talk...
Marko from Anti-Empire does the Worst of all Worlds podcast with Rolo, in case you didn’t know.
I was not aware that was Marko's blog. Not sure why but I enjoy his discussions with Rolo.
