Is it possible that the Shoigu is loath to move troops from the south to the north as that will weaken the line there? I can't see how Putin can paint the Ukys as invading nazis after he invaded Ukraine , that would be a bit rich. It seems to me that the Russians need another mobilisation , the line is just too long for the number of Russian assets available at present. I had been directing people I knew who were interested in learning the "truth" about this conflict in the direction of The Duran and Larry Johnson. Their analysis is on the polar opposite spectrum from what I am learning here. It's mind boggling. Every day, the two Alexes from The Duran marvel over the total destruction of what they now reckon is Ukraine's 3rd Army in this war. Is there any other explanation other than their being on someone's payroll with a mandate to spread blatant falsehoods?
I will say I never, not for one moment, believed the NATO talking point of their running short on ammunition and weapons systems. If that were true they would not admit to it so readily. It's a ruse meant to encourage their adversaries to "poke the bear", as it were

The new stance of Macron comes as a surprise since he was seeming to be (relatively) the most moderate Western leader since the start of the war, before it he seems to have tried to have good relations with Putin and to have sided to a certain extent with Russia on the question of Ukraine. This said, the French establishment Macron left apart has been for years hysterically anti-Putin, seeing him as a sort of Antichrist on whom it is blaming everything that threatens its power and narrative (in a striking similarity with the depiction of some historical figures or movements which are supposed to have attributed everything happening in the world to a certain group of people).
As the US help for Ukraine is on hold, it's possible that Macron saw an opportunity to exist politically by taking over the leadership in the Western war effort and dragging with him other European countries. He has sufficient megalomany to do so not to mention possible kompromats on him. And France has influence in the EU and has Europe's strongest army so it can get some traction among the countries with the most aggressive position on Russia. I tend to assume that a hot war between nuclear powers is not possible, I can be wrong, but Macron's declarations might be a sort of bluff so as to push the other countries to a compromise in which they would not send troops but more powerful weapons and funds to Ukraine.
