There definitely is an element of theatrics and showmenship with Prigozhin but the thing is just by putting himself out there as someone who gives a shit Prigozhin by default becomes the guy that Russians whose necks on are the line actually reach out to:

If MoD had a reputation for being reliable videos like this wouldnt be a thing. Remember in Mariupol MoD did collect some capital when it came to protecting civilians. Well after many successful regroupings, de-escalations and painful decisions followed by SBU filtration all that capital has been spent. They are so bankrupt that they are telling people in the border regions to go ahead and fight the Ukrainians themselves. Wagner of course has been offering training courses in basic small unit tactics and medicine to these residents but again if MoD were considered capable of protecting the border towns Wagner wouldn't have a market for it. Like Prigozhin said months ago, if MoD had been doing their job the last 20 years than Wagner wouldn't exist.

Lots of people like to quote mine Sun Tzu allwarisdeception.text which I find especially annoying. Sun Tzu was talking about deceiving your enemies in regards to your intentions and capabilities, not deceiving your own soldiers and patriots into thinking you are an incompetent asshole. If absolutely nobody, neither the enemy nor your own troops and patriots believe you about anything anymore than you can only successfully deceive yourself.

So the theatrics of Prigozhins presentations aside this isnt 5D judo psyops and Putin is absolutely not Alpharius from 40k running plots with in plots with in plots. This is a real shitshow of Shakespearean proportions. I can imagine that writer doing an awesome tragic novel in the vein Coriolanus or Titus about Prigozhin and MoD.

Alternative media will say the fish is still "tasty," so trust the plan.🤮

Independent media like mainstream media news can transform a narrative so that a Texas mass shooter who is a Mexican gang member can be miraculously transformed into a white racist fascist nationalist.

It's not news, it's prestidigitation. And for my next trick I'll need a volunteer from the audience....😁

A newbie question.

All of the above (and in previous articles too) seems to suggest that the generals are sabotaging the war effort. Sounds plausible. (It remains unclear to me, though, whether or not Putin is one of the traitors, according to Rolo.)

But then, why did they call 300,000 reservists back in fall? If the goal is to sabotage the war front and cause defeat of the RF, it would have been easier not to make any draft. Or is the goal just to steal money? And if so, by what mechanism (favoured by calling those reservists) is this money stolen?

The fish rots from the head indeed. What a theater of the absurd this has become and total loss of credibility for Putin and his court of losers. Beggars belief. Thats what happens when a sentimental non entity with zero backbone is swept into office. The oligarchs knew who they picked. Who would have thought Gorbachev and Yeltsin could be surpassed in utter uselessness? Poor Russia...

I take you mean that Putin is a sort of puppet in the hands of the oligarchs. Maybe. But this begs me to question, whence such hatred for him on the part of the West? Or is this hatred just theatre?

Expand full comment
Wiener Blut's avatar

The west hates him for the rhetoric of resistance, not that he does much of what he outlines. And having their enemy image to keep the war racket going. The patriots reject him for being nothing but a bluff and fluff talker while leaving russia the undefended potemkin village it has been.

Id say he will be the demise of russia sooner than later unless some spirited faction acts to save the country.

Expand full comment
Freelander's avatar

At the risk of oversimplifying things, let us say Putin is the oligarchs' puppet, and the oligarchs are in turn submissive to the western powers. That makes Putin himself an indirect but ideal agent of the latter; which by the way also control the MSM. Why unleash the hate demons on him in the first place? Why not simply let him do his task of weakening and selling Russia off? Why this insistence (by the west) in overthrowing him? Why provoke an artificial war at the risk of Putin's demise and the accession in office of a hard-liner, a "real patriot", a winner (not picked by the oligarchs but by some spirited faction) who might actually defeat Kiev? The west was very happy with Gorbachev and Yeltsin, it should be even happier with Putin, if he is such a useless loser.

Honest questions. I'm just trying to understand the big picture, but any explanations I have come across so far leave unanswered questions and apparent contradictions.

Good question. Putin shows some degree of resistance and is not a complete sellout. Makes it more complicated. The risk of a real patriot succeeding is almost zero,so why not play regime change when its so easy?

Fair enough. But then, if one thinks (at least I do, to my regret) there are very little chances of a real patriot succeeding -- should one not support Putin? Better bad than worse... (By "one" I mean anyone who is on the Russian side.)

Now you've been caught with your pants down! Quiet if it doesn't hurt anymore! Or Putin is a corrupt traitor friendly to the oligarchs and the West or not? When Biden himself has already admitted that this proxy war was aimed at overthrowing Putin! And Prigozhin now also came to say that Shoigu deceives Putin?! A Minister from Putin's inner circle with whom he has been working for 20 years!! But Putin now doesn't know Shoigu either?

Or did Prigozhin want to transform a MOD meat grinder operation in his great victory in Ukraine and appear today in the victory day celebrations as Julio Cesar? And now that he's being dumped and he's going to end up like narcissistic idiot Strelkov, he doesn't say anything that makes sense anymore? A nationalist that liberals also love in Russia?! More schizophrenic was impossible! But Navalny also went from trampling emigrants like cockroaches into the pockets of the CIA! Quote: "All theater though. Pay it no mind. The “Black Clown” is simply crazy."

No sarcasm please! As I mentioned before, it just ruins everything including your reputation as a pro. Just imagine somebody unfamiliar with the context reading your blog for the first time. How would that person understand the above quote? As true or not? People familiar with all this know what you mean, but you sound both desperate and confusing to all new people here. Just be a pro. I again refer you to Whitney Webb's work - she never uses any of your antics - especially not sarcasm. She just researches/investigates and reports facts/findings. You can point out professionally what Putin bots/cultists say, but that should be just and FYI for the patriots.

Also, just imagine some editor reading your blog - would that person feel comfortable employing you and hope every day that you are not going to get into your self-pity mode if enough bullies attack you in forums?

Why are you so upset when 5D-ers make fun of you? Aren't they just Putin's jesters and clowns? They are the ones comical/self-delusional or simply paid liars/provocateurs! And why are you spending so much time in forums trying to change them? It's not happening! Many of them are either blackmailed or make money Lying From Home - you know, a sub-type of WFH. There's a 3rd group that "supports" Putin for the following reason: They invested themselves into him over the years and now their egos cannot stand to admit being made fools by the "emperor". It's too big of a narcissistic injury [1]. Similar to sovoks - they are actually defending their egos by "defending" Stalin, or Putin in 5D-ers case.

Quote: " One day I will transcend this world of lies. I am almost there."

IMO, the best way to get to them, if that's what you want, is to expose/reveal/debunk their fallen idol, but that seems as the last thing you would do. Hence, you are simply doing what they like - indirectly claiming that everyone around the "emperor" is guilty "except" him who simply did "not" know and could "not" do anything about it. I'm quite certain that 5d-ers enjoyed reading what you wrote to me - that you will start exposing Putin once he's essentially retired and irrelevant. By that time, they will be supporting their new strategic "5D-genius". Think about that.

You'd not promote any action - you'd just give people the info and let them make up their own minds. IMHO, the current way you tackle Russia is kind of misleading to say the least. One can't find the word "Putin" in close to any of your articles - isn't that kind of strange considering that you are writing about Russia close to 100%?

It's your blog though and I won't bother you with this specific feedback anymore, as it seem hopeless. Also, there could be a chance that you were warned by the FSB not to touch the "emperor", just as many bloggers and YT channel holders from Serbia were warned by Serbia's FSB - they are fine if one criticizes anything and anyone except the main slime ball. It's a very clever system - they know that they cannot stop people from talking about problems as there are many, so they just want them to blame minions and avoid mentioning the main culprit. Hence, I do not want you to get hurt.

P.S. I do not subscribe to blogs the standard way in order to avoid marketing, but I do follow your substack, and Riley's too, and read most of the articles. You protect Putin indirectly, one of the biggest traitors in Russia's history, and many people may find that hard to pay for.

Putin is by far the chief culprit in the genocide of the Russians - his betrayal of the Novorussian uprising in 2014 did more for the ethnic cleansing and cultural genocide than a hundred years of Bolshevik propaganda!

Not criticizing Putin is a cop-out by Strelkov because he explicitly struggles to avert a civil war in Russia (and Putin is the only one able to stop it on the 0.5% chance that he suddenly becomes pro-Russian) - whereas Rolo does not have that moral obligation as he's writing in English for the Anglo audience.

I will disagree with you on the issue of the 5D people - they seem to constitute the vast majority of seemingly pro-Russian Anglos - at least, from what can be gathered on the Unz Review and on 4chan. Even César Tort used to watch Gonzalo Lira (before Lira's constant squealing about Ukrainian "Nazis" made him disgusted).

And I will disagree with your idea of "just being a pro" - professionalism has led Anglos to embracing GAY. Plus, Rolo is a mudblood and strives to be hip with the kids, we don't need another boring white cuck here.

I always have a problem with paywall articles. I believe a really good-willed person, or a true patriot, who writes something in the hope it contributes to the common good should want his message to reach as much people as possible and give up any earnings that might be made by a paywall. What! Is the fate of Russia not worth relinquishing a few bucks?

This is not easy, of course. I understand one needs to make a living, and there is a dilemma here to be fought over by anyone who writes things he believes relevant or essential for improving our societies. But in extremely important cases, where the fate of a nation (or even the whole humankind) are at stake, the selfless approach should overweigh the selfish one, in my opinion.

More: when I read a free article, I tend to assume its author is telling me his honest thoughts, since there is no money involved in it; but if it is a piece for which I have to pay, I cannot help asking to myself: is this person more interested in making money than in conveying his truth?

I do not have problems with paywalled anything - people have the right to charge for their work if they choose to. I also don't think that Rolo is motivated by money - if he was, we'd be doing 5D-ers work and enjoying the perks including paid trips to Russia to present "greatness" of Putin's "genius" like Scott Ritter does.

IMO, he has trouble getting employment in MSM, as he's non-compliant - he does not suck up and does not want to write custom-tailored articles for agencies to promote agendas, etc. So he's not a "team player" so to speak. He and Riley seem like outcasts - not welcome for wanting to do real investigative journalism.

This Putin issue with his articles is most likely self-censorship, but he has the right to that too - especially if he got some "friendly advice" from the FSB. As I said, we do not want him to get hurt either [1][2][3].

Fun fact - Strelkov is calling Prigozhin an amoral, criminal Jewish murderer akin to the early Bolsheviks and Yeltsin.

And regarding the victory parade - I personally am at a loss as to why a non-Jew would celebrate the anniversary of Hitler's defeat. Case in point - the Nazis wanted to shoot my great-grandma because her hair was a tad curly, but my great-great-granddad intruded and explained that we're 100% Bavarian phenotype, and only Jews were shot that day.

I admit I'm puzzled by this Prigozhin. On the one hand, his denounciation of shell shortages and other ineptitudes seem quite reasonable. He has not got it, therefore he must withdraw. Or he is a lousy bluffer.

Strelkov has been right about a lot but his dooming forecasts stopped coming to pass right around when Kreminnaya actually held, no?

Prigozhin has been growing as a doomer since he became relevant (visible) From "We'll need two years to reach the Dniepr and half a year to finish Donbass" to "Abandon all hope," in a few months.

I agree with his take on the Kremlin and RuMOD, all useless, but It think even the Kremlin have the sense not to allow an Operation Storm tier defeat here, they have deployed just enough to hold.

There's sense to the theory that Ukraine is probing for the best place to allocate the bulk of their resources for an offensive, and right now Russia is trying to bate them into choosing Bakhmut with these weakened flanks.

Don't get me wrong, I think losing Izyum, Kupiansk, Lyman, etc. was horrible and those responsible "would have been shot" in China. The fact that MOD isn't making a serious effort to retake those cities (Bakhmut is useless without them) is astounding. But even mouth breathers like those in charge can't allow that to happen AGAIN.
