This is so sad....because of all the people who died, and who fight for their families and homes. It make me angy - because the same things happened here in Croatia in our war - brave and honest people died, or become sick because politicans use them for their interests....And this situation make me also so sad --- now only I can say is R.I.P. Morozov, R.I.P. all of you heroes

I would like to point out that building a factory takes 1 or 2 years and that starting production requires training of workers. Thus if it is true that Rheinmetall plans to start producing weaponry and ammunition this year, it means that they have already received the machine-tools and the production lines. What is left is erecting the walls or buying a large building and the installation of the equipment.
So either this announcement makes public something that was planned 12-18 months ago; or the factory was to be built in Germany but politics prompted the move to Ukraine.

This oligarch v oligarch thing seems very real to me. But the ramifications of it are not, I think, clear cut. We can't just condemn Putin on those grounds. It could even be considered an excuse for him: it is the environment within which he has to operate.
