President Putin gave an interview recently in which he finally answered the question: “Why did Russia wait 8 years to intervene in Ukraine?”
The answer: we got fooled by our esteemed Western colleagues.
There’s an old saying in Russia that says: fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.
Anyways, the whole “we are too naive and good for this world and we got fooled ;_;” narrative is total gibberish fed to low-IQ morons who can only filter their understanding of international relations through a moral lens.
The same people who used to run with gangsters, many of whom are former gangsters themselves and who have shown themselves to be anything but naive when it comes to settling internal political and resource turf wars in Russia want you to believe that they were too trusting and open-hearted when it came to dealing with the West.
Do you honestly believe that?
No, the whole "oops, we got tricked” is a cover-up for a far more unsettling reality, which is that the Kremlin was playing ball with the West and doing everything they could to be accepted by the West right up until the start of the SMO and in some cases, even now!
They like to claim that they are taking a principled moral stand against Western gay-gangsterism, but even there, Russia’s new definition of morals and principle appears to be basically American social values circa 2012 before the tranny thing really took off.
Did you know that the state continues to provide abortions in Russia? Yes, the number of abortions has been steadily falling, and we should applaud that, but the only effort being made to curb Slavic women’s insatiable desire to murder the unborn en masse is by the Russian Orthodox Church, which simply wants to remove abortions from the list of government-subsidized procedures and make it a paid service.
Divorces? About as high as the US.
The reasons? Pretty much the same as the US. A system that steals men’s right to own their children, and forces them into financial servitude to the woman who stole everything from them. At least, in Russia, there is an understanding that men and women are both equally on the hook for debts incurred like, say, the mortgage of an apartment and men who enter a marriage with wealth are able to keep most of it in a divorce - only that which was acquired after the marriage is divvied up. Also, the cops can’t raid your house on suspicion of domestic violence like they can in the US. But activist lawyers in Russia are working hard to change that.
Me, I’m all for a traditional values Russia. But, clearly, my understanding of tradition and others’ definition is quite different. Furthermore, my views are not accepted in Russian polite society. Nobody would ever allow me to spout my “extremist” rhetoric on any state media project and I might even get in trouble with the law for simply talking sense too loudly.
For now, at least.
For now.
Ironically, it is the older generations that object the most to such straight talk. After all, they got theirs, Jack, so they can afford to adopt a position of high-minded faux-chivalry. From what I can tell, my message mostly resonates with the youth. And my definition of tradition is patriarchy, which has effectively been outlawed in both the East and the West. The rubber really hits the road when you realize no sane man will marry a woman who can snap her fingers and ruin their life at a whim because the cupcake period in their relationship has passed and she’s gotten bored. You can moralize at men i.e., try to use morality as a cudgel to shame them into going against their own interests after changing the definition and meaning of marriage to mean willingly putting oneself on a leash to women and, by extension, the state.
But more and more men are saying, “this is a con”.
This relates very well to the “we got tricked because we are too moral for our own good” narrative that the Russian state is peddling, which is only good for a sad laugh. Regardless, it still is a blow against the 5D Judo-Chess narrative. There’s a lot of difference between believing that Russia has a secret multi-step plan and everything is going according to said plan and hearing Putin publicly admit that his top people got bamboozled again and again and that now the Russian people have to pay in blood for their “moral” mistakes.
Actually, the reason that men in marriages and Russia in international relations keep getting the short end of the stick is because we are all suffering from an identity crisis. Men are obsessed with being “good” i.e., listening to women’s incessant nagging and emotional manipulation and Moscow’s elites are obsessed with being accepted by the West i.e., not being Russian and running away from their country’s “dark” and authoritarian past.
Making Russia stronger? Defending Russia’s interests by any means necessary? Being a loyal steward and dogged defender of the fate of the millions of Slavic souls in your care?
They would have you believe that such measures are “immoral”. But, what they really were was inconvenient at the time and unprofitable.
The Kremlin was willing to sacrifice Ukraine and tens of thousands of slavic souls and now they have the gall to tell you that this is because they are actually really moral people? Or, that they have somehow saved the economy with their import-substitution measures?
Did you know that all of the area that Russia has been fighting over for the last year in Donbass was actually once under the control of separatists led by Strelkov and others?
Actually, when Strelkov recounts his adventures in the Donbass, he says that he had to lie to his men and tell them that Russia was on their side and providing support. He knew that the men wouldn’t want to hear the hard truth: that Moscow was annoyed by their rebellion and was not keen on supporting them. Strelkov hoped to force the issue and force Moscow to intervene on their behalf, but this only occurred when the rebellion was on its last legs and the famous Debaltsevo cauldron.
All the territories that are being fought over now were then turned into fortresses by the Ukrainians. All because Putin and friends are now seriously claiming that they honestly believed that NATO would appreciate their big-hearted gestures.
Words fail me.
How much more can we take, blyat!
With leaders like these …
**
I still support Putin, by the way. Now that he’s literally Hitler for trying to find families for Donbass orphans, his back is against the wall. He has an incentive to fight harder going forward. Whether or not he will take the necessary measures, or the network of loyal incompetents and gangsters that he has built around himself over the two decades of his rule proves to be too entrenched is anyone’s guess.
I allow myself to hope that necessary measures will be taken … only when all other options are exhausted, of course.
Here are the key tells we should look for to determine whether and when Russia is getting serious about this fight.
The firing of actual heads of key ministries and agencies
Taking out key infrastructure in Ukraine, like the bridges, even if it hurts oligarchs’ profits
The end of the grain deal
“Active measures” being taken i.e., going on the offensive against NATO countries
The platforming of actual Russian patriots on Russian state media
The platforming of actual Western patriots on Russian state media like Iran has been doing
Glazyev writing a favorable op-ed unlike the last one where he dumped cold water on Pepe Escobar’s feverish 5D delusions
A serious general mobilization
For now, all signs point to Moscow wanting to wind the war down and keep a kind of slow, frozen conflict going as they negotiate with the Satanists in the West.
Interesting you use the adjective 'Slavic' instead of 'Russian' when it comes to the insatiable desire to kill the unborn en masse. As poetically spoken as it is true. For that reason, I was wondering a couple years ago if Poland would get away with its extra abortion restrictions because in a sense, they were maybe too restrictive: not the policy itself, but the whole 'tug of war, push here concede there' approach. And god damn, did the West and EU try to make them out as evil, grasping for straws at everything they could. There was a lot of shrieking. But while a bunch of Polish women are still butthurt they can't be as infanticidal as women in other countries - unless they go to Czech, where unfortunately they enjoy helping Polish women kill their children - the government seems to have survived that challenge and the infanticidal women have lost, for now. I know things are too estranged right now for those two countries to emulate each other in any way - perhaps permanently so - but I hope something like that happens in Russia so that the beautiful Russian people remain in this world.
Getting rid of abortion hasn't changed the birth rates that much, however. It's a good first step, but there's a deeper psychological cause to all this. The inability to have solid traditional gender relations is one of them but Poland is not a woke hellhole like the West, a lot of people remain quite traditional. Church-based marriage counseling, for instance, is more common now. Gotta love a bit more tradition in that domain, to strengthen the seriousness and sanctity of marriage including for women. And yet the birth rate still remains low. It could be materialism, I don't know. Or simple ideological lobotomization. The root cause, though, may be deeper than policy can venture.
Ahh yes we aren't traitors who were trying the best we could we could to push Donbass back into Ukraine kicking screaming so we could get back to business as usual despite all the obvious signs the West wanted war, we are just naive angels to good for the dirty politics of this cruel world.
Strelkov made a direct appeal to Putin a day or 2 ago to get his sh1t together that covers the same basic points Rolo makes here:
https://t.me/strelkovii/4296
He makes a point Ive brought up a few times as well, if Putin cleans house and starts acting as a real wartime leader even people who have no love for Putin will support him anyway. Strelkov counts himself as amongst those who dont even like Putin but he knows the alternative is worse. The alternative being Putin is the next Khaddafi and Russia becoming a radioactive ruin. He says we dont want to see you (VP) surrounded by your friends from the lake but talented people who have the ability to start managing the situation at the front and in the rear. Should Putin do that he wont just have the support of the Chinese but the Russian people.
Strelkovs appeal there is a direct refutation of the 5d claim that he is a bitter hater who just can't bare to see Putin succeeding. His mentioning Chinese support raises another question that doesn't get enough consideration. If we just accept at face value that the Chinese are also fishing for a reliable allie to oppose Western Zog hegemony than they dont have one in Moscow. That is Putins Judo and fishing buddies are if anything obstacles to more generous Chinese support because the Chinese would be well aware that they are more or less pro Western on top of incompetent.
