Seems to me political machinations are a given, but what is really driving the show is Russia's natural resources. That is the prize. Thus the tactical manoeuvres political and military won't ever show the ultimate game.
One should consider how many nation states are truly sovereign. I'd say the last one was Nazi Germany and we all know what happened there.
Once one understands that there are no independent actors, the previously incomprehensible becomes quite clear.

Personally I think the original aim was to sequester Russia's resources "legally". However, a terrifying prospect has come into much sharper focus. That is ozone depletion which appears to have reached a critical level. One has to understand that the "ozone hole" that forms over Antarctica every winter does not "heal". The hole is filled by the remaining ozone thereby thinning the whole ozone layer and this process has been happening for many years. So every year the ozone is getting thinner. Hence "chemtrails".

Trees are dying off all over - they look rather like a freshly felled previously healthy tree after a few days have passed.
