“I’m going to be writing some fiction - fall means writer contests offering exposure and some $$$ which I want to get in on, but that means putting in work now.” >
Far less work involved than you think: take the comrade Krieger material, just change the background and names and set it in the Yemen war, or some conflict in the Congo.
Starring comrade Abdullah or Gumbungo, it will be thus acceptable to a politically correct literary jury.
Well, I've already got something in the works. Besides, there's no real narrative or motif or whatever to Comrade Krieger's stories. It's just a firsthand account of a campaign.
It seems fanciful to me to believe that after the slow, bloody slog needed to take a salient from favorable positions Russia could now take a well defended huge city. It would take a lot of fighting for the russians just to recover what they lost when the ukrainians pushed them out of artillery range earlier this summer.
The only way Kharkov would fall is a total collapse of ukrainian forces which is unlikely to happen.
That's why I doubt that Kharkov is even the next russian target. Right now they are probably taking a break and after that they would probably continue to grind through the rest of Donetsk.
Why didn't you write this comment in the beginning instead of serving up that slop? It's disrespectful to make such low-effort comments.
You should actually try reading this blog because I never said taking Kharkov would be easy or a done deal. I said it would be a bruiser. You must have me confused with Saker or someone in that camp.

Awesome, go get ‘em.
You're in for a treat.
Congrats on hitting 1000!
I want Serbia to integrate into the RF ASAP!

Yeah, that's what I am saying, postmodernist perfection. I've heard juries love that.
You decided to write some fiction and you started with "With Lugansk captured, Kharkev and the rest of Donetsk are next"
Lugansk WAS captured.
Troops are moving in on Kharkev, we've already seen advances.
Donetsk is obviously next too.
Poor quality comment.
