If these high level officials are talking to the Russians than maybe the Kremlin swapping out medvedchuk for Azov paid off after all. That would signal that if you are well connected and the sort of weasel that Kremlinites can relate to that the Kremlin will make it itself look outright treasonous to take care of you if need be. Maybe the sovaks are already shopping for future local Oligarchs to govern the Ukraine?

As for the tanks the actual numbers being sent arent enough to make a huge difference really. That of course should be qualified by saying that the Ukrainians have demonstrated the ability to use the resources they have very efficiently so I have no doubt the tanks will create a headache for the Russians but they wont be a game changer imo. They will just prolong the blood bath.

Imo neither Russia or America can really win this war on the terms they want because both countries have to many structural impediments to creating the necessary conditions for total victory. Ukraine isn't even a factor really, even if Putin is overthrown and Russia partitioned Ukraine wont reap the benefits. Either Ukraine becomes a big version of Albania in the case of "victory" or its partitioned in the case of defeat.

But the US is already doing all it can by mobilizing NATOs infrastructure for its Ukrainian proxies. It cant do much more, Ukraines grunts are way better than NATOs gender confused clot shotted obese troops. Giving Ukraines troops NATOs gear and resources is the best the US can do. And Russias ruling class cant make the changes necessary to put Russia on a proper war footing because taking that fateful step would ensure their future political/cultural irrelevance. Russian victory means rootless Cosmopolitan defeat.

Therefore both Russia and the US are at self imposed deadlocks.

Leopards have a three fold purpose imo:

1) Widen the wedge between Germany and Russia (long term)

2) Give the Ukraine a few more day's

3) Show the world who runs Germany really

I somehow doubt that we will see Abrams in the Ukraine anytime soon.

(Let the world see Leopards burning.... that'l drive up the sales of US equipment)

(Btw: I read that the US can only barely produce Abrams anymore... another reason to be terse with deliveries?)

Apparently Abrams run on jet fuel and the Ukraine have no way of actually keeping them running. Seems the Abrams things was just a show to con the Germans

It's been surreal watching russia refuse to use all the weapons they've been bragging about since 2018.Where's all the good shit? Why are they using Afganistan era tanks? If you have high tech weapons and don't have the will to use them, you don't have high tech weapons.

My first comment here. I am nobody's idea of an expert but I have a feeling that these Leopard and Abrams tanks will not arrive by March and may never arrive at all. Even if they do, who is going to operate them and where will they be based? It takes 6 months to properly train a tank crew. And what about the logistical support and the supply lines? Who will provide those? I know enough to know that MBTs are not a "plug-and-play" option.

Another non-expert here: reports some months back of Ukrainian troops in the US training on US equipment . And, of course, there are Poles and mercenaries out there as well. US personnel (civilian contractors) will be based in Ukraine to maintain them. But the pace of all this probably mystifies both experts and non-. (Is the ground frozen yet? )

Kaliyuga, or the darkness, emerges from ‘false kings’, who rule society without adhering to ‘Dharam’ – or Righteousness. So, ‘a-Dharam’, or unrighteousness, flows from the top, i.e. the king, and causes suffering all the way down, i.e. to the lives of common people.

In this rising tide of a-Dharam, what common people can do, is create new communities, that do not pay obeisance to the a-Dharmic ‘false kings’, but only take command (hukam), from the true source of Dharma, i.e. God. It should be noted that ‘God’ in Sikhi is also referred to as ‘Saccha Padshah’ – the True King.

Now, if we look at the entire chain of thought, from the logic of history, to the falsity of earthly kings, to the idea that new communities should be founded that owe allegiance only to the ‘Saccha Padshah’ – we see a radical trend emerging. This trend reaches its logical conclusion in the Tenth Guru, Gobind Singh Singh – who in consolidating the Sangat of Nanak into the Khalsa (more on this later) actually proclaims that sovereign authority will now rest in the Khalsa, who will owe no allegiance to any earthly king but the One True King.

Nanak exclaims – ‘You yourself unite, You yourself separate; I gaze upon Your Glorious Greatness.’

From this, we can derive an understanding of history. Of why, as in a classic theological question, bad things happen to good people. And what can we do about it.

This simple statement from Guru Nanak forms a ‘bedrock’ on which later Sikh society – the Sangat – and even the idea of the Sikh polity – the Khalsa – develops.

Now, in the face of the unfolding of brutal history, what can a ‘normal’ powerless human being do? God, who is ‘nirbhau nirvair’ – without fear, without enimity – in a sense, ‘allows’ history to happen, because He will not intervene in human affairs. At least, that is what the Baburvaani initially implies. But if we look closer, He has intervened, and He has done so through Guru Nanak.

The mere fact that Guru Nanak expresses this nature of God, is a Revelation that has two consequences.

One, we must not expect someone to come and save us. Two, we must do so ourselves. And the way, the passage through this churn, will be shown to us, only if we know whom to ask. (The Guru.)

From here, the basic elements of Sikh society begin to develop. In the face of historical forces, to protect ourselves against it, we must look within, for faith to understand our predicament, and we must look outside, at our neighbours who are all facing the same consequences. So, through faith and through association with neighbours, the Sangat (community) begins to develop. And the one is no longer alone to face the wrath of history.

--

In Sikh theology, the ten gurus and then the Adi Granth, form a continuing line of revelation (light). This idea of the Sangat that looks after its members, faces up to the forces of history, develops in time, into the Khalsa – which not only protects against the tides of destruction, but has the power to reverse them.

So, the lament in the initial verses in the Baburvani is also answered by the realisation in the end. History is a force – that breaks society and social order, but it can also be tamed to create a new form of society, and new social orders that are just, founded on and empowered by Dharma.

In a deeper sense then, God is not completely absent in the face of human suffering. Suffering is a forge, to make the ‘weak’ and the ‘helpless’ who looks for help from the outside, strong enough, to find strength within.

Could you explain the context in which you're asking so I could answer better?

By mystical do you mean a roaming Ascetic (Udasi), intellectual (Nirmala) or Warrior-Saint (Nihang Singh)

The Khalsa is latter & is considered the physical form of the Guru.

'Where 5 Singhs stand so stands the Guru'

'The Khalsa is the Guru's physical form, and the Granth (scripture) the soul/voice'

Rolo is a rare English language commenter on the Ukraine clusterf&ck that gets the longer this draws out, the more it benefits the US.

These posts always give me mixed feelings. Russia's lackadaisical approach to the war and seemingly lack of interest in achieving its stated goals makes me lose enthusiasm for the possibility of Russia winning and for Russia itself. However, the fact that Russia seems willing to work with the US to increase the likelihood of WW3 makes me very nervous. When I made out my goals for 2023 dying in a nuclear war wasn't one of them

Most Ukrainians are either only interested in using the war as an opportunity to move to the "West" or support Russia. A mere minority wants to stay within the Ukrainian nation. The top government officials spend so much time outside of the Ukraine they had to make a rule to keep them there.

I offer this link with many disclaimers. A site created by core neo-cons in Wash. DC. But it is hugely detailed and updated daily. Unless it is a total lie, I think it does establish at the least that the war remains an ugly WWI style slug fest. https://www.understandingwar.org/ Consult with discretion! Speaking of "women especially seem to be getting off on this:" - the above site shows photos of 40 or so associates of the organization. At least two thirds are very attractive 30s-40s something women! Interested readers may wish to check out a certain: Kateryna Stepanenko. "What is going to left of the Donbass at this rate? " - Lots of cheap waterfront property. The new capital of Kherson will be on the Azov Sea. The temperate seaside will make Russia a much less depressing place. With a little money, Berdiansk Peninsula can be an island, marinas can be created, and cold tolerant palms can be planted. The little cities getting destroyed are de-populating anyway because they are obsolete.

"It is is reminiscent of how formalized Ukrainian was created in the Soviet Union and then the 90s - as an amalgamation of dialects with a strong emphasis on Galician Ukrainian, which appears to be a kind of Polish slang."

These dialects probably include a lot of Ruthenian and Hungarian slang as well, but I believe Ukrainian's WRITTEN origins goes back to pre-Soviet Czarist times, at least to 19th century poet and linguist Taras Shevchenko. His poetry is credited with the invention of the written Ukrainian language and alphabet. Surprise: he did this work at the University of Moscow.

Ukraine's culture has been historically schizophrenic. Ukraine was something of a wild, wild east to the Polish Lithuanian Empire, populated not only by native cossacks, but by serfs and bandits fleeing Poland proper. That dubious relation didn't seem to stop Poland-Lithuania from employing the superb Zaporizhian cossacks in their cavalry, the eventual demise of which is sometimes credited with facilitating the late 18th century Partitions-Land Grabs of Poland. While cossacks often looked westward to Poland, whenever Poland pissed them off, cossacks switched alliances to Kiev and Russians to the east for protection, with equally unstable loyalties.

Two illustrative portals into this historically split geopolitical personality are the are the circumstances surrounding the Khmelnitsky uprising, and Gogol's fictional novel Taras Bulba (or the horrible movie). I hope readers here can add a few more.

It's tragically painful to me to watch Ukrainians twisting their shorts waging war with each other over whether they are really Eastern Slavs or Western Slavs, (Norse Arians? Please!) On the other hand, it's the height of Anglo American geopolitical perfidy to have inflamed fraternal cultural frictions to the point of war.

But to them, anything is worth preventing the "Anglo-Saxon" European political outlook from slipping into a more natural "Slavo-Saxon" vision. To those geopoliticians, who are gorging on popcorn watching Germans backing Slavs killing Slavs, this is simply delightful.

https://t.me/beriyalav/34326

Good news if this is a trend seeing as how besides Wagner its the DNR and LNR guys doing most the fighting. So far the Russian Army has had to crowd fund around 75% of their gear and the DNR/LNR guys for all of it so if the MOD is prioritising the DNR/LNR that would be a shocking and unprecedented sign of them doing something useful.
