That was a good read. It seems the Russian military is poorly equipped when it comes to the basics, e.g. boots and helmets. Why is this I wonder? And I guess all militaries have their share of incompetent commanders, but that's something else that should be fixed. Anyway, great war reporting!

Remarkably high morale: despite all the setbacks and grousing, he's ready to go back. He deserves a better battalion commander.

Damn. Very surprising after listening to Andrei Martayanov, https://smoothiex12.blogspot.com/ , I thought the Russian military could do no wrong. Bad commanders, poor quality equipment, armor interfering with aim, piss poor communications, and zero artillery support.
