Sofa Strategist released a new video. It is in Russian:
I think I’ve written about Sofa Strategist before. He’s a top-tier conspiracy theorist explaining how Putin and his cabal are Western traitors and how their behavior mirrors that of other installed leaders that the West first put into power and then moved to eliminate as they transitioned to total global oligarchic control.
Now, I know what you’re thinking: is Sofa Strategist Rurik’s alt persona in disguise?
Not quite. He’s actually far more “extreme” than I am. Like, for example, he believes that Strelkov was a deliberate provocateur that was given a mission by Moscow to stir anti-Russian sentiment in Ukraine and to provoke justification for a serious escalation. His proof for that theory appears to be that Girkin is a spook and that spooks are not to be trusted. Sound logic. Being a bit naive myself, I still cling to the hope that Strelkov was actually one of the good ones. He’s in jail after all, right?
On a long enough timeline though, I’ve found that the most outlandish conspiracy theorists end up being closer to the truth than anyone else.
In other words, I don’t feel comfortable disagreeing with Sofa Strategist on anything, at this point. Like I have pointed out too many times to count on this blog, I’m actually extremely moderate in my Kremlin-scepticism compared to some of the much larger personalities in Russia. My “radicality” is only relative because there’s simply no one else like me writing in English. But, if you dropped me into the midst of the other Russian-language conspiracy theorists, I’d get bullied to death for being so naive and trusting. Lol.
Anyway, in the latest video (try turning on the translated subtitles) he explained that the current SMO is unfolding under Yugoslavia rules. Allow me to summarize the key comparisons:
Milosovic was a Western asset just like Putin
There were marooned Serbs on the territory of a newly-created pro-NATO splinter state (Bosnia) just like there are Russians marooned in Ukraine (Donbass)
Milosovic started an “SMO” by sending groups of paramilitary volunteers into Kosovo to “help” the separatist Serbs in Republika Srpska (under Bosnian government)
This only caused more problems and nothing was accomplished despite all the deaths and fighting
Serbia had a decisive military advantage over all competitors but Milosevic refused to use the military against irregular militias that would have been flattened easily. Similarly, Putin refused to use the army for 8 years and even now still refuses to mobilize!
This is by design. The West only feels comfortable fighting wars against opponents that it knows have their hands tied behind their backs.
Eventually, NATO felt comfortable bombing Serbia proper because Milosovic had set the stage so well for them. They knew that he would not allow Serbia to fight back. Similarly, the NATO bombs have now started to fall on Russia proper. Rostov was bombed recently. Warehouses and factories are being targeted by NATO long-range weapons and drones. In a few weeks, the West claims that they will pass along F-16s to Kiev. Now they will be able to bomb Russia more intensively. A repeat of the Serbia scenario.
Putin was actually a player in the Serbia drama in his time too; he betrayed Milosovic to Washington after convincing him to surrender and providing safety guarantees to him. Here:
Despite the good job that Milosovic did for NATO, and the leaks in subsequent years that confirmed he was a Western asset, that did not save him from the Hague. Putin seems to think that he will be spared the fate of all the other deposed Western assets like Saddam or Milosovic or Noriega, etc.
That is why he keeps doing his job!
Meanwhile, the long-awaited F-16s are set to be delivered to Kiev in the comings weeks. Zelensky has been complaining that he requested more than the 20 coming over in the first batch. And Moscow has been bragging that these jets will be insignificant. However this is the standard “cope sandwich” narrative that we have heard so many times before.
Zelensky gets new weapons and complains that it isn’t enough and that all the failures and deaths in the war are to be blamed on his NATO allies, who aren’t doing enough. This is popular rhetoric at home and it also keeps his options to ask for more stuff the next time he visits with NATO countries. For their part, Moscow pooh-pahs the new tanks, the new howitzers, the new drones and now the new planes.
But we can all agree that Ukraine did not have F-16s before the start of the SMO and will have them now and that they will get more, eventually.
This incremental approach serves NATO’s interests. They are cutting the salami with many small slices. The introduction of F-16s to the theater of combat was supposed to be a red line for Moscow, remember? And now that line will be stepped over, carefully, gingerly. When Moscow fails to enforce this latest red line though, they will simply ramp up their supplies. This is the formula and it has the added bonus of extending the war indefinitely, which benefits all the people making money off the conflict and getting hundreds of thousands of Slavs killed.
Win win.
And now the stage is set for a more intensive bombing campaign of Russia, just like what happened with Serbia. For now, Kiev focuses on targeting military objectives that will soften up Russia’s defenses for the next big push being planned for early 2025.
In a recent leaked phone call by the infamous Russian prank callers, Hillary Clinton told who she thought were her Kievan colleagues in the government that Washington expects another large offensive, and that Zelensky has to deliver on that to secure even more money and supplies. It’s a very simple scheme really. Washington pays Kiev to attack Russia. Hillary thinks that this will benefit Biden if done before the elections.
This conflict is very far removed from strict military considerations.
Studying the political forces working behind the scenes yields far more accurate predictive results than analyzing the endless war propaganda and disinfo put out by the respective ministries of defense.
It is baffling to me that so many people still haven’t figured this out.
The propagandist-analysts lying to their audiences I can understand. Their followers reward them with money, praise and support for posting the most outlandish scenarios. But why the average person continues to allow himself to be lied to is a more difficult question to grapple with. Perhaps I will provide another, more detailed perspective on the average propaganda consumer and his unique emotional needs in another article. The short and sweet conclusion is that people prefer lies and, in fact, actively seek out lies and subsidize them.
I’d like to remind my casual readers that I am 100% dependent on their support.
Instead of writing me messages and emails saying that you feel guilty for not supporting you should just become a paid subscriber now. Like, right now. Actually though. Prove me wrong.
What do you think, will Belarus be included in the target list of the next bombing campaign, or maybe later, or not ?
You ask why the people allow them to lie? Same reason they shut the fuck up about the jabs & lockdowns I expect.
Trump will be looking at $ Billions of grift in “Rebuilding Ukraine “(Build back Better) so peace is essential.
Will those aircraft really have Ukie pilots, or mercenaries with “the right stuff “ or maybe suffer from’Boeing syndrome’ downright bloody dangerous flight risk.
Anybody who buys take away coffee but won’t pay Rurik for his work is a pi’s-ant freeloader, pony up you pikers
