Surkov's twitter account is worth reading even if he doesn't post anything much these days but going through them was interesting. after i commented on two of his old tweets he hit like (which surprised me, his likes were few and just on ones where big shot writers had written about him years before) so he obviously checks to see if anyone is still paying attention. three days after this happened my extremely small and i thought unnoticed account got 'permanently suspended'.
For those that are interested, Thierry Malleret, the long-time second-in-charge at the World Economic Forum has an illuminating career that Rolo got wrong because he does not know enough about France and Europe. Here comes the light.
From his biography on the WEF website, Thierry Malleret (TM) has a joint PhD in economics from Oxford University and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (EHESS). EHESS is an ecumenical ultra leftist den with a very nice building in the centre of Paris : marxists, trotskyists, leninists, stalinists, maoists, negro-maniacs, arabo-revolutionaries and many other anti-capitalist sects teach and grant diplomas there. The only non-ultra-leftists there are repentant ones : they are marginalised and usually do not teach or mentor PhD candidates. (1) Largest tax hikes in the 20th century (7-8 GDP points), more than for each the two world wars + large budget deficit. (2) Bureaucratic colonisation of large firms with high ranking civil servants joining the boards or the upper echelons of management. (3) Economic intervention through high taxes and punctual tax breaks, effectively ending the independence of economic actors. Thus investments are no longer allocated for efficient commercial production but for tax-optimisation. Government-lobbying and corruption became an important function for businesses. (4) Record influx of immigrants and shift from European origin to African origin in spite of the collapse of communist countries. He actively expelled Eastern Europeans and showed that on TV to discourage the arrivals. But open borders for Africans. (5) The cover-up of a major crime : tens of thousands of patients were transfused with blood contaminated with AIDS and other major incurable diseases. That crime surfaced a decade later and was prosecuted at snail-pace resulting in light sentences 25 years afterwards.
