Thanks for the great podcast!

Your guests today are way off the mark for me and I could only listen to their BS for 10 minutes or so. I do not mind hearing opinions from the " other side " but not outright distortions and comparing this to Israel / Palestine is a sick joke .

Marko at it again I see. Riley is the more sensible one although I don’t agree with his points either.

I strongly disagree that essentially something that can be summarized as “dominance” or attempts at it lead to a worsening situation. In fact I believe the opposite, once someone is scared and willing to accept defeat it solves conflicts. What Russia has been doing is making the conflict worse by being passive aggressive, especially when this is so emotional for the ukrops. Unfortunately hitting the energy grid is likely an attempt to force negotiations.

I do agree with Marko the bridge attack was not terrorism, although it’s a common opinion in the west. One thing i don’t like in the war is Russia appealing to the feminine with all this humanitarian work, innocent people getting bombed and oh so poor and sad Ukrainian captives. This “terrorism” stuff is no different, we all want results not a feelings championship. The funny thing women and feminine men are the most likely to flip, and support globohomo, regardless of anything.

I do think the west wants to fully intervene, and is looking for a good opportunity. What they say makes no difference. That’s what all the baiting is for.

As for Chechnya seceding, I doubt, they’re no longer isolated culturally.

As for multipolar world, someone is going to be top dog, the only difference is China probably won’t push globohomo but what steps is Russia taking to stop homegrown globohomo? Unfortunately we’re seeing a version of “they’re not doing liberalism correctly, we’re the true liberals” thinking behind the scenes. Not sure how this is suppose to appeal to Russian neighbors.

Thanks Rolo for defending the motherland.

I hate podcasts. They are far inferior to the written word. Blabbing out a stream of words is far easier that writing, but is also far inferior and fails to communicate effectively. The "podcast" is a waste of time as far as I am concerned. Is your book going to be an "audio book", not written? How many people do you suppose would buy a book that can only be played, never read?

Marko in super-yobbish mode in this one. But I don't mind, makes the debate feel more authentic.

There are voices coming from the grapevine of possible Putin-Biden bilateral talks at the next G20 meeting in Indonesia.

Have the Ukrainians take Kherson for public relations purposes (end on a high note), and then, as Russia, bargain peace and the annexation of the Donbass and the corridor to Crimea, against the threat of unleashing these new hundreds of thousands of mobilised troops on the offensive in Ukraine again.

Far-fetched I'd say, if you stop and think the Donbass region has not yet been liberated still.

In the closing stages everyone listed their own spats, and I liked Rolo's dispassionate observation that 'they come after you when you are big enough'. Riley's blog is pretty big, but got so by exposing the pretty bleak reality behind the 'Russia is based' myth. So he's going to get the usual opportunist naysayers who aggrandise themselves by potshotting at more established individuals, like this German, but also the really deluded people going against him.

I agree with Marko whose role seemed to be devil's advocate, that the Russian missiles were wasted unless Russia becomes consistent in bombing Kiev more and strategically. But the Russians are afraid of Washington. They may not completely grasp that the neocons are actually as truly as insane as they literally are, but it might have more than crossed their minds they could set off some FF leading to really serious scenarios of all out war. I don't think Russia assumes it's a sideshow to Washington's ultimate goal, China. That would be unwise. She is on the table as something the Americans want to destroy on their way to China.

I do not agree the Ukrainians could be "assimilated" into Russian society. They've always considered themselves an historically different people with a different ethnicity and folk culture that was entirely collectivist and Ukrainian in nature. It was Russia's wishful thinking they were little Russians.

For years one could meet old Ukrainians like really old, nineties or so, and this was years ago you'd meet them and ask are you Russian and they'd straighten their bent backs and say no I'm Ukrainian. It has to be taken into consideration these people feel deeply about their ethnicity and their ethnic superiority and will not assimilate.

Of course Russia couldn't do nothing in response to the bridge bombing, but I can't tell if it's too optimistic to think that this will lead to more "gloves off" disruption of Ukrainian infrastructure. I guess we'll see what happens with "general Armageddon". Either way it's like watching paint dry waiting for them to do anything.

Rolo is right about propaganda though. People will literally do whatever the TV says. In the US parents are chopping they're kid's balls off for heavens sake. No one took trannies seriously a few years ago. I don't doubt that a competent propaganda ministry could reverse the anti-Russianism in Ukraine.
