The war is driven by the USA and American support is real : the production of 155 mm artillery rounds has increased from 14'000 rounds per month in Feb 2022 to 30'000 rounds per month now with plans to reach 60'000 rounds per month in Sep 2024. Most of the production goes to Ukraine.
Whereas the production in Europe has increased from 20'000 rounds per month in Feb 2022 to 30'000 rounds per month now, with vague plans to increase it to 32'000 rounds per months by Dec 2024. Europe's ammunition factories work at capacity and no-one wants to add capacity. Plus 40% of production is exported out of Europe. The American agents in Europe, i.e. the European Commission, Poland, the Balts have crafted grand financing schemes. But the industrialists do not invest much in production.
So European support for the war is tepid. Ukrainian shell hunger will persist and its army be weakened. At some point the USA will give up and wrap up the war.
