Hard to tell: the old royal families are probably also swimming in this same tank, but with much less visibility. Spanish and Portuguese were preeminent in the cross Atlantic transport segment (and in the S American plantations); Jews had recently been chased out of those areas; hence, it was mainly Christian Spanish and Port. "running" the slave trade. North African Muslims were the principle brokers on the African coastal segment; (black) inter-tribal African warfare was the source of the supply chain (losers ended up with free out-of-continent transport). Jewish finance must be in there somewhere; British landowners (second sons, primarily?) handled the Caribbean and N American colonial segments. It's a long story, as usual.

About fifteen years ago when I first got on the net I did a search ,' Why have the Jews always been hated " ? Back then there was a lot more information out there , lots have been erased since then.
